Got a money draft next weekend and another one this Thursday. It a live draft at a bar here in town.
- SABRES 89

I have my first local money draft saturday, only one before the last week of pre-season

I hate this early draft

My luck I will take AP and then the league will decide the next day they are going after him for admitting he smoked pot

Okay, so Torrie is the head of amateur scouting, his job is to find the talent in the draft. He spends the entire year traveling and looking at prospects and gets to know every inch of theses kids games in and out so he can make the best decisions. He had five picks in the first 51 of this yearsdraft. Pick number 1 (2) overall was a lock so the next four picks would be his bread and butter. He put in a tone of travel so he could be ready to make those next four picks, AND THEN, gmtm goes and ships picks 21,26, and 31 away. I know the decision to do this was what was best for the team in Tim's eyes, but it definitely had to sting for Torrie. I mean how would you feel if you spent a year working on a project and right before the finished product isready to roll out your boss comes up and scrapes it on you. It couldn't have been a vote of confidence for Torrie, Plus the trading away of all his other selections he's made recently, Zadorov, Lemieux, McNabb, Armia, Grig, Compher,

I think you're reading too much into it. These scouts all know that draft picks are traded very frequently. It's their job to assess players so that if the picks are still held they can make the best pick possible. It's about being prepared. There's no guarantee. It just sounds like to me he's ready to move on to scouting the Pro guys for trades/FA instead of the amateurs.

Both leagues are PPR leagues so I got a little more research to do.

Olli Jokinen is still an unrestricted free agent.

Jokinen played for Nashville, Toronto and St. Louis last season, playing 62 games. The 36-year-old had only four goals and 10 points last season and he could have a tough time garnering a new contract in the NHL. He made $2.5 million last season but will definitely have to accept a lot less, if a team is ready to offer him a deal

I might draft Murray if he's sitting way later than he should be. Roy Helu is a solid back, but he doesn't do enough to justify him taking a roster space on your team.

You never wanna overthink a fantasy draft. I'm in a 12 man league and we play for a good amount of money. I never even look at projections until the week of. Won 2 times in 7 years and got to the finals 4 times. Its super fun. But for me when i overthink it i end up drafting to many sleepers that end up being busts. Gotta keep it simple. Good luck with those drafting in the upcoming weeks.

Anyone willing to do a league with a group of guys on here?

with the injury risk of murray, he is one of the few I would handcuff

I would never reach for anderson from the broncos, if I did I would handcuff him with ball

I'd probably handcuff bell with williams

and charles with davis

yeah, it had ta hurt a bit, but pretty sure these scouts know what they're signing up for...and in buffalo's case, their prospect pool was overflowing with bodies, so some had to be moved
