Are we going to bet again this year? How about with our Hockey Pool . Loser pays 40 to Canadian tire Jump Start , winner pays 20 to Jump start

If anyone else wants to join in , you are more than Welcome

best case scenario. Hank and Dank break their fingers attempting a high five after a goal and miss 6-10 weeks.

Team drops in the standings. finishes in bottom 5 in league.
More younger players get a taste of the NHL
Becomes a seller at TDL, unloading several expiring contracts and clearing cap space.
Adding multiple early rd picks and prospects in return.
Drafting one of the highly ranked Dmen or even fluke out and get Matthews.
Team is just as competitive the following year (despite twins age), but with a new budding star.

Remember new draft lottery system. The top 3 picks are drawn now. Not just 1st overall.

I'm always dreaming

Theres no tanking in van. Cant happen cuz the fans wont stand for it. If we lost mega games youd hear crickets chirping in the stands. It cant happen or the damage will be huge. There should be no more talk of tanking.

Besides theres no chance of getting #1 pick anyways...buffalo proved that. #1 belongs to edmonton no matter where the place in the standings.

Canucks will finish in the playoffs.

Pacific
1. Anaheim will win the division and the
2. Canucks will battle against Calgary, LA, SJ, for the 2-3 spots...

I don't have a lot of faith in SJ (thornton, marleau duo hasn't got it done in the past, goalchie is untested over a full season, front office drama with key players), or Calgary's ability to defy the adv. stats again (like the Avs from a couple seasons ago), to upgrade their regular season to overtake the Canucks who also added by subtraction in addition to getting a bit grittier to grind teams down.

Canucks plan on grinding out wins with grittier play and players.

3. Edmonton is still a non-factor with their defence and lack of enough leadership.

Um no....LA wont be in top 3 as long as sutter and the current roster is there.

And the fans will be pumped for another "race for 8th to get our asses kicked in round 1 again?"

I made no reference to vans roster, not sure where your comment comes from.

Sutter tends to have poor seasons then good playoffs. We saw that last cup win where they made the playoffs by 1 point then won the cup.

Thencurrent roster hates sutter. They even barracaded the door so he couldnt enter the room last season. So while sutter is there and the lineup is the same the result will also be the same.

Please Note im STILL not making any reference to the van lineup

The point was that tanking isnt a reality here. You seem to have trouble staying on topic during a post.
Youre not usually like that. You must be having a monday.

You said LA won't be top 3 in the division and you're not a fan of SJ so you have to have someone finishing ahead of LA besides ANA if they're finishing 4th or lower in the division.....

The topic is "will Canuck fans support a legit rebuild" and my argument is that the current direction is just as difficult to support if not more so...because at least a rebuild has a clear direction and offers more long-term hope/excitement..the people who buy tickets are going to notice the trend here:

2012: Loss to LA in 5 in Round 1
2013: Swept by SJ in Round 1
2014: Missed Playoffs
2015: Lost to Calgary in 6 in Round 1

2016: Another missed playoff or 1st round ass kicking will probably see ticket sales decrease even more so....Brandon Sutter and Milan Lucic signing here won't fix that either. If people are still buying tickets at that point then that means they're hardcore enough to buy tickets for a rebuild as well most likely.

Of course someone will finish ahead. I suspect the la players may tank to miss playoffs to potentially get rid of sutter.

I never said I didnt like SJ either. Youre having bad day dude.

Id say both van and calgary finish ahead of LA.
Maybe even the oilers?.....nah, who we kidding.

I'm actually not having a bad day...but thanks for repeatedly asking.

I got your comment mixed up with Kaptaan's on SJ, my bad.

So you have VAN ahead of LA? I believe now LA vs VAN's roster is relevant in this discussion, no?

Ya thats about right. Therell be some hardcore crowd for sure. We are in canada after all.
I think youd see more of a playoff ticket drop in rd 1 though as long as we're winning in the season.

My post was just a reply to another post claiming la would be in top 3.....and no not a chance. I didnt start a debate on whether fans would support a rebuild.

Yes. La is likely finished. They are imploding from within. I think theyll be last in the division if edmonton improves.

Who knows where van and flames finish but itll be ahead of La

that list is hilarious.

Markstrom shouldn't be considered a prospect at this point and if he was, Gibson, Hammond and many others should be as well who look to have a better future than him.
