Serious question.
Who is going to fill the tough guy, stay at home, clear the front of the net, punish the forwards Dman role on the Canucks this year??

we've let AHlberts, SOB, Bieksa and even Stanton go...I think this is going to be a major hole in our D corps.

Besides Buff, who would you like to see targeted (besides giant Russian prospects)??

- dbot

I wouldn't throw that much to get Buff but I would take him over Edler in heartbeat.
As for targets I don't think there is many. I would have liked JB to go after the pick to get Merkley but we didn't even have the assets to get anywhere near that pick. As far as big Defenceman who can score he is the only one who is maybe being shopped. Depending on the positions of Winnipeg at the deadline and that he isn't extended(which I don't see) he could opt for free agency next July and he will get a big payday.

We watched Unfinished Business and Taken 3 last night. Talk about a waste of 4 hours

If you like action shows, watch Strike Back. 5 seasons of that show, we just watched the last two episodes last night, better than a lot of the movies that are out there.

I also recently watched that new Mad Max movie, thought that was fun.

We were about to watch Unfinished Business last night, I will keep putting it off I guess.

We haven't had one of these type of dmen on the team in quite some time. Bieksa rarely cleared the front of the net- not strong enough. And I thought part of the reason SOB was moved was because of his discipline outside the rink and not providing the physical edge on the ice.

I am not sure either who to target. When we played Calgary in the playoffs, I thought Engelland brought a lot of what we lacked, he was effective in his positioning and physical play... elevated his game to some extent.

Tbh, I mentioned Engelland because I hadn't thought too much of him before. Thought he was overpaid when signed by Calgary. But still, with a cap hit under 3 million, I'd be just as happy to have him in our bottom 6 than Sbisa.

I'd be happy with either of the Hatcher's or dmen of their ilk.

Well perhaps sbisa can evolve intot that player. He does have good physical play.

For what it's worth, Merkley was hands down Kelownas best forward in the mem cup. The only game LD wasn't invisible was the semi final game.
I like Merkley. But imo he's in the shinkurak mould, and you can only have so many of those speedy little guys.
I'm sure to lead fans this comes off as a hater but look at Toronto top 3 prospects. They average 170lbs. While I am a huge Marner fan. But I question why you keep stockpiling guys who are too 6 or bust.

I disagree. Sbisa is phanuwf minus the big shot and plus a elite akater

There must be a misunderstanding. I am talking about the Sbisa that plays for the Canucks
