Leadership isn't worth $5.8MM per season against the cap. You give out 'leadership' contracts to guy like Morrow, as bad as he was. A long-term deal with a big cap hit shouldn't be handed out for anything but on-ice results.

I was fine with everything you said except the one sentence I pointed out and I still say that sentence is a complete joke of a statement and idiotic as well in regards to Stamkos. Nor do I...again the return was not the point. Your premise of retaining salary was as that pertains solely to any return. IF we retain as much as you said we will get a higher return, but especially given our upcoming cap issues it is much more likely we dump him for nothing. His value lies in the cap space
