So talking with the Rockets Statistician the other day when in Kelowna and I mentioned that I was surprised that Merkley went so late in the draft and he said its because he stopped shooting. His playoff and Memorial cup stats were way down. Due to his size and drop in play when the intensity picked up he basically became a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
