You honestly think they'll slide that far back from last year?
- quackup

Yes, we're a year older and not much in way of a succession plan

Maybe give the Jay's an honourable mention, but I don't think there is a need for more coverage.

Like the idea of watching some hockey tonight!

Let's see what McCann can do. Sounds like he is on a line with Ho-Sang. Could be interesting.

With the way some people have been talking, some of these guys are going to age 2 or 3 years over this summer.

I think the succession plan is to stay competitive, draft better, build prospect pool and let them season as long as needed in the minors and let them battle for a spot when they are ready.

Not sure if we have an NHL #1 centre among the prospects, but we have some players that will become nhl regulars.

Serious lack of potential top pairing dmen among our prospects- Hoping JB addresses this next draft.

Maybe I misheard, but I thought McCann said he was practicing on a line with Ho-Sang. ( interview on am1040)

I guess we'll see tonight. will be happy to watch some live hockey either way.

I doubt he will reach those heady heights. He's a bust and we all know it.

I was hoping for Boeser or Brisebois

I highly doubt that will happen. You guys are too solid. We are very much in the hunt for Matthews.

As I see the Western division is quite straightforward.
Each team is on its own curve n trending accordingly.
Teams on top Eg Anaheim n on the rise Eg Calgary n
the teams rebounding Eg LA n those on a retool/rebuilds
Eg Vancouver/SJ then Edmonton.

The Canucks r creating real openings for picks/prospects
to win a roster spot. Not what the past has offered for
quite some time.
Corrado is one example on D n 1-2 Forward chances.
The moving of aging n pricey players is underway n with
Hamhuis n Vrbata on their last contract year TDL or offseason
trades could be in the offing.
Injuries also happen n will test our depth n where the talent
on the farm is actually at when tested.

As for the likely 23 man roster the 2015-16 season success
will rely on 2 things IMO. D play in front of Miller n Miller
himself finding another gear. Thats a tall order but thats the
dividing line of makin or missin the playoffs next season.
Other factors such as Horvat/Sutter/Baertschi will say much
a out where the Canucks sit now n the nearer future.
The bigger picture is where JV n CC n McCann can grow into
the Pro game in how soon.
JV this year or next i think.
CC has the all around game but a season or 2 in the AHL will help.
McCann is 2-3 years away unless his pedigree is truly for real.
Demko has the time to season in move up in a few years.
Lacking top D prospects is a hole thats hardest to remedy.
Hutton/Subban n maybe a surprise darkhorse r all we have atm.
Grenier's rise has been great n Shinkaruk/Gaunce/Jensen need to
follow suit soon.

Edit: Boeser is also in the future mix
