That's the same thing you guys were saying about Seguin when he got traded.
- TheUltimateJet

Most Bruins fans knew that he was going to be the superstar he is turning into and were upset about the trade. As evidenced by people's hatred for Eriksson (which is unwarrented really). The media, not fans, ran amuck with all sorts of reasons he "wasn't a fit for the team". Much like the Dougie move, there's really no sense in sulking about it. Pick up some good pieces and go with it. It's about the only thing you can do.

Now, onto the real subject: Byfuglien. A guy with the skill set and size he has isn't going to be traded for peanuts. Which is really all we can afford to trade away at this point. Seids, Kells, draft picks, prospects, these aren't going to cut it. If they were to trade a better player(s) for him, it would be a lateral move, maybe even another step back. Which is why I believe Big Buff on the Big Bad B's is nothing more than a pipe dream.

I think Byfuglien's antics in the playoffs may have sealed his fate as far as playing for the Jets. Other GMs will have noticed his behavior for sure. Also, the fact he becomes a UFA at the end of the season will be on people's minds.

Might be worth kicking the tires. It isn't far fetched to think the Bruins would have more than a passing interest in his services, for the right price.

There MUST be some reason why he's still unsigned. And received little playing time. Something the GMS know that the general public does not. Aside from being overrated. Either he's asking WAY too much or the league has dirt on him. There are enough teams needing defense (ex. Edmonton, Toronto even) that he should have been signed by now. I suspect he has a KHL offer in n his pocket and is waiting to see if anyone will match it

I'm surprise the Pens are not trying to sign him for cheap.. ?

I think Franson is getting massively undercut by the GMs who are interested. Perhaps he waits until training camp. If some team's dman goes down, he can up his price.

Reasonable logic in isolation.

Complete fails when you see the isles basically got equivalent value for Griffin Reinhart.

Edit: that and an offer sheet 1st has the potential to be a lottery pick.

Well is Griffin Reinhart better, equal to, or less than Hamilton?

Add in the fact that the offer sheet probably would have come to them after the draft, and therefore, wouldn't have affected the Bruins' picks this year, but the following draft which is supposed to be thinner, and would put Boston back another year in the "rebuild"

not sure what Buff is worth but the Bruins did well with their pending UFA in Lucic, so i'd use that as the bar

Boston won't overpay for a rental at this stage.

A Erikkson for Buff swap seems like a logical to me. Both are UFA's after next year. And I don't want to hear Buff is better. Louie is a very good two way forward who can put up good offensive numbers.
