He also played 43rd most at his position and finished with 33 points.

Bonino traded ... what we've learned

1. Somehow trading a 3LC impacts the Flames and Oilers ...

2. After reading the analytics crew ... I can't understand how Bonino wasn't a finalist for the Hart trophy

My God. You've just described Tyler Bozak.

Edit: With less goals.

Thankfully he's rightfully place as a 3rd LC. I wonder how he'd do playing with Kessel and JVR ?

We'll see how he looks and how his new contract looks. Time will tell.

Odd, I've been trying to tell you this all day.

Not too great I'd imagine. Kessel and JVR are no superstars. I've learned that from the previous 5 years of HB.

Bonino's 5v5 points per 60 are better than Sutter's. Same with Matthias.

This just keeps getting worse. I'll be keeping a close eye on Bonino to see how well he plays with Craig Adams next season.

Letting Matthias walk was one of the smart moves Benning made.

Have you never watched Sutter? Kassian is a WAY grittier player. Brandon Sutter has a less physical game than Alex fuking Semin.
- BINGO!

No offense meant, but you are a Hurricanes fan living in SK, so I'm not sure if I can take you serious. You seem to have a hate on for Sutter and your commentary is way to negative

He's played mostly with Downie, Bennett and Spaling.

Bonino played mostly with Higgins, Vrbata, Burrows.

I agree Bonino has had better linemates, but that doesn't make up for the difference in salary to me, especially considering Sutter will likely get a raise.

I don't like the fact that Vancouver keeps making trades for players that Desjardins coached previously.

This is the big league's for gods sake learn to coach with what you have.

What about the multiple Pens fans saying the same thing? Should we take your word over theirs as well?

Good deal, which is what you expect with a non-established RFA.

It will be interesting to see what his raise is compared to Bonino's in a couple of years. I'm sure you'll agree that salary in the next couple of years shouldn't be the highest priority. I'm not saying it's irrelevant it's just that it's not critical like when you're contending for a cup.

Are those the same Pens fans that say Bylsma should have been coach of the year, or that Kunitz made Team Canada on merit not because of Sid ?

I don't pay much attention to their opinions anymore.

For sure, but to me the best way to speed up a rebuild is to trade some vets for picks/prospects. Bonino is a solid center and very affordable.

I agree about trading the Vets, but NB was not good enough to be part of the future.
