Just responding to Thunda's comment. I believe that's allowed.

He brings a different element my problem is Bonino and sutter are a wash. Even if they value sutter more, you've added in Clendening and then you've traded down. I don't believe that sutter is worth that much more then bonino. You then add 1.4 million and he's a FA at the end of the year.

My thought is every trade Benning is making, I don't hear or read anywhere tweet or comment from any sports anaylist that this is a "good deal"

- manvanfan

Dude, Clendenning isn't one of our bests prospects lol. We dropped 10 spots in the draft. Who the f*#k cares.

I have a few diamond I like. I'm also only an hour away from you.
- thundachunk

PG or the Puddle?.... I guess Barkerville and Nazko are an hourish away also.

List all those diamonds and I'll tell you which ones I've heard of.

"He was an
- Nucker101[alternate] captain in Pittsburgh and he's a leader," Benning said. "He has high-end intangibles and we're going to have some young players that are going to make our team over the next few years along with Bo Horvat, so Brandon will be the leader of that younger group."

He also said that he expects to get Sutter extended shortly.

I wouldn't be upset if he was extended. Personally I would give him a bit in the line up before making any deals.

He's probably a bit more skilled than Matthias, but not as strong.
- Nucker101

What games are you watching? Sutter is significantly stronger than Mattias. Hell, Raymond is stronger than Mattias

2016 OS for MacKinnon would rock my world.
Morgan Reillyor Seth Jones also.
Make a play at Seabrook.

JB needs to maneuver 1-2 more NTC's still.
Sutter @3.7-4m i figure

The draft picks burn me up a little as well. Clendening he obviously got a real look once he got here and thought otherwise of him. I didn't dislike Bonino but I wasn't sold on him either. Sutter is a bigger right handed center. His potential is also still high.
- thundachunk

I wouldnt have done bonino straight up sutter. Clendening is not good so I dont care about him but I didnt like his trade for forsling and as to why we give up a higher pick when are guy has term on a crazy cheap deal..

Benning is just brutal.. All of his trades have been crap.

Nice try, I'll take word of Pens fans who watch him every game over yours.

Sutter is skinny by NHL standards at 6'3" he's only 190 lbs
Bonino is 6'1" and 195 lbs
Matthias is 6'4" 220 lbs

He has missed 3 games in 4 years. Better battler on the puck. I have seen him battle. He is no where near as soft as he is made out to be. And he had 21 frggen goals as a third liner
- VANTEL

He's pretty weak on his skates... But he does amp up his play for the playoffs so that is something.

Sutter just scored 21 goals at the NHL level. That's good for 75th in the league. He also wins draws, and has other intangibles. Let's not over sensationalize.

Sutter is the weakest NHL player I have ever seen on the puck. Mark my words, he'll lose a disproportionate number of puck battles. That's why his possession numbers are so bad.

My God. You've just described Tyler Bozak.

Bonino traded ... what we've learned

1. Somehow trading a 3LC impacts the Flames and Oilers ...

2. After reading the analytics crew ... I can't understand how Bonino wasn't a finalist for the Hart trophy

Seeing players in the Ahl playoffs is a huge indicator for hockey gurus. I certainly wasn't more impressed with Clendening in comparison to Corrado.

We'll see how he looks and how his new contract looks. Time will tell.
