Who were those guys that assume that anyone whoever says Corsi in one single post, only uses that to evaluate players? Oh, nevermind, you're all still here!
- Nucker101

That was a serious question. There was someone who was all corsi this and that, everyone ganged up on him, and he hasn't been heard from since. I know it's hard to remember, it was during the Esplen dynasty...

As I've said many times to you before, it should be used for support and that's all.

All right guys. It's a no win situation for me. All I've done is try and be objectionable and combat the hyperbole that some of our fans keep creating. I'm more than capable of being harshly critical at the GM's as some of you may remember.

Around here that makes you a #1 fan of Benning. Funny, when I started to criticize only some of Gillis' moves,,, I was called his #1 critic immediately... and to no surprise it's the same people making both the accusations.

The Gillis fan club keeps up the old fight... under a disguised flag.

What an uproar when he got canned.

Some incredibly narrowminded thinking in here today.

Gotta admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the trade but its not all horrible either.

a) Benning opens up one more roster space for a younger player who WILL get ice time - isnt that what everyone is female doging about?

b) The Canucks continue to get bigger and grittier - isnt that what everyone is female doging about?

We were manhandled in the Calgary series and Benning is addressing that - not sure what the problem is. Offensively Bonino LOOKS better tha Sutter but his production is marginally better while Sutter makes up for it in FO's an dgrit.

Clendening was never going to get a fair shot and may never become a regular, Hes already on his 3rd team....i dont know guys....

I like looking at some of the new stuff, War-On-Ice has their own stats like scoring chances, high quality scoring chances, etc. Then there's the more standard stuff like points/60. But apparently I use corsi and corsi only

So how about yet another horrible contract. Whats Benning thinking... I'm sure another GM could have saved $5000. I know Benning is good at scouting/drafting but this poop will kill us down the road.

Ha, someone remembers. Bloated told me I was incorrect on that just recently. I remember just fine because the poop storm was all over me over it. People forget he was very popular when he got canned.

900K still doesn't make sense to me, same as the posted Grenier cap hit of 585K.

Both these players should of been eligible for a 5% mandatory raise on their previous salary.

If Baertschi's is based off of his 832 500, that still works but then how does Grenier go from 650 K to 585K?

The current team must extend a "qualifying offer" to a restricted free agent to retain negotiating rights to that player. Qualifying offers are for one year contracts. The minimum salary for the qualifying offer depends on the player's prior year salary.

Players who earned less than $660,000 in the previous season must be offered 110 percent of last season's salary. Players making up to $1 million must be offered 105 percent. Players making over $1 million must be offered 100 percent.

If the qualifying offer is not made, the player becomes an unrestricted free agent.

If the player rejects a qualifying offer, he remains a restricted free agent.

If the player does not sign before December 1, he is ineligible to play in the NHL for the remainder of the season.

The thing is Nucker that stats in hockey are easily skewed. Baseball is the true statistic sport where it's much more of a collection of individuals playing together than it is a team sport. Far too many variables in hockey, including when it comes to simple stats like sv%.
