Great trade. Another steal. Hoffman's coming off TJ . No pitching prospect is a sure thing. Gotta love how these know it all Jays fans think AA is a fool for this. An upgrade is an upgrade. We already had a Catcher before getting Martin. We upgraded that. We upgraded at 3B & now at SS. We have the best 3B in baseball, the best SS, and arguably the best catcher. Why would AA deal one of his top prospects for a rental, when you can get a major upgrade at a meaningful position with term. Reyes was horrible on defense. No need to over react here, because our farm is still stacked. Another trade will come...and it'll be for a SP. Whoever it is, remains to be seen.

Reyes seemed very nonchalant, and he and JD had a few issues on balls and plus he's been squeezed out - Travis should be leading off, and now EE going for a pitcher...

We didnt have a great catcher before Martin...hence the Martin deal....Lawrie while good, was often injured and a spaz....hence the Donaldson deal. This deal is an upgrade at SS...but Tolu now has to play on turf, he's already injured often....could have a negative effect.
The farm isnt stacked....it has some pieces....but its no longer stacked.

EE won't be traded. We still have the farm. Whether it's Norris this time going for a pitcher remains to be seen.. and if not, our future is still looking up with Stroman, Sanchez & Norris.

EE will likely be part of the package, there is a log jam at first/DH, Navarro is a nice piece and one of the best backup catchers there is. Smoak is great in the field and his bat isn't too far off either. With Tulo now in, EE becomes expendable and a nice trade chip to get pitching for offence...

Would be pretty (frank)ing awesome if we can acquire Shark or Price now...

agreed. EE & even Bautista, most likely will be dealt, but not this year, and if they are dealt, it'll be for prospects.

For right now though, we still have PLENTY of prospects to ship for a SP.

I think it is most likely the trade for Tulo was to get Reyes' crap d off the field, it wasn't his offence that was the problem nor is it a problem for the Jays. Typically pitchers aren't traded for a guy like that directly, but as part of a package, plus this is a 30 plus HR 90 plus RBI guy, teams will want him. AA would probably love to keep him, but he has 5-6 million to work with, and stud pitching has more salary, someone is going the other way that makes money...
