Certainly less pressure trying to build a contending team from scratch rather than having a contending team and not winning - could be a nice break for Glou - especially the cash part...cuz now he has some. And maybe he can finally put Kovalchuk behind him.
As with many a Leaf hire or signing in the past...this could be a bit of a retirement gig for Glou. Like being a starter at your fav golf course.

Yes I'm sure they will.
They'll be making a splash in 2 years. They won't be able to hold out.
Plus I'd rather not overpay even on the smaller contracts
