Lou's past 3-4 seasons in New Jersey have been horrible. The bad far outweighs the good.
I'm hoping he won't be in charge of any major decisions

- Fakepartofme

Yeah, I have some concern about that too.

Hopefully he is essentially a Rolodex and negotiator. He owes us for the Kurvers trade.

I have a feeling Justin, William and Kasperi will become fast friends in training camp this year...

Never played it, but my mother lives just around the corner. I will play it some day.
- bixll

You know...it's just ok. Last time I played it there were 8 greens under repair. They stuck a flag in a hole at the end of the fairway on each of those holes and tried to cut the grass a little shorter...what a bummer. They gave us a free round, but so what, they should have told us prior that they had so much winter damage.

Called up for when the opposition dresses Ogie Oglethorpe. Need a Semenko*.

Good thing they didn't charge you. I would like to play it today. It would be nice to see how a guy would do.

Good thing you qualified your statement. Not that you'll stop any Habs, Oilers or Canucks trolls, but at least you did your part to preempt the impending stupidity.

For sure. 16 for instance is a female dog to hit and stick and these guys proved...it is a female dog to hit and stick. 18, I'm a 4 iron in on my second depending on the wind, but from the whites - these guys are short irons and wedges from the back!

Oh and the free round....not that round...they gave us a voucher to come back.

You think so?

I mean, provided we don't pay an arm and a leg for Bernier, I don't see why we can't keep them both

Both sides of the argument:

1. We want to tank: Keeping 2 goalies who couldn't get it done is the best option
2. We don't want to tank (but are ok with losing as long as it isn't intentional): Giving Bernier an opportunity to bounce back under Babcock's systems is the best option.

Just don't see the benefit if the goalie market is crap.

- TheThrill

My "I have no inside knowledge, just wildly speculating" guess is that Bernier wants a one-year deal, and then say goodbye to Toronto.

Why would he want to stay here, and endure years of painful rebuilding, when he can simply go UFA 11 months from now and choose where he plays, for arguably a higher payday?

Don't buy a Bernier jersey - the best before date on it is June 30th, 2016.

Yeah, I wouldn't blame him for wanting out of this catastrophe either.

Although the last time a French Canadian goalie played on a team where Lou was the GM, it seemed to work out pretty good.

Thank God we have Bibeau

Wedgie's angry Monday morning rant:

I haven't read the transcripts of what Hulk Hogan actually said, but it strikes me as completely hypocritical that the WWF (or whatever the frank they are called now) would dump a guy who made them hundreds of millions of dollars, strictly because they unearthed a tape that is 8 years old that has him using racist slurs.

Is this really what we do now?

Am I the only one that finds it bizarre that "we" hold a professional wrestler to standards that we could never uphold?

I haven't used racist slurs in an angry tirade, but I guaran-effing-tee that if you taped everything I said and did for the past decade, you could come up with something embarrassing.

I don't demand perfection from people. I demand that people constantly pursue perfection.

I haven't watched wrestling in about 30 years - I was never really a fan, but I do know what a huge role the Hulkster played in pushing wrestling to the forefront of pop culture, and making the WWF a huge brand.

He should have been allowed to apologize and then we should have all moved on. The WWF should have stood by him. The Hulkster deserves that loyalty from the organization that made a boatload of money from him.

Severing ties because of one tape - that was eight years old?

Is this really the biggest embarrassment the WWF has ever faced?

Gutless move. Completely gutless.

Just got up to this part. Sadly this is a lie. Article thrown out.

1st: Thommie Bergman. By scouting Nylander in 2012-14, Thommie would have seen Timashov play dozens of times, including on the same line. He’d have seen that the two played well together, and that Timashov had the talent to play up. So, this year, when Leaf scouts – including Hunter – saw Timashov in the Q, and talked to Thommie, he’d have plenty of in-depth info, including the puzzle piece about playing with Nylander.

- AdamFrench

So Timashov and Nylander never were matched up on a line together? I don't know what the line combinations were in MODO. I still think the article provides insight based on numbers and stats alone.

you guys need to stop pin pointing one specific thing and thinking thats what everything is about.

The leafs liked their management team before Lou with one simple exception.

When it came to contract negotiating and contacts through the league they were very ill equipped and lacked experience.

so, bring in a guy to oversee that growth and teach while managing.

it was a damn good move.

I agree, plus his rolodex!

Lay out a plan, get Lou to make the calls
