May be not even so much him, but the people he hired and surround himself with. If I was working for the Sabres in any capacity, as a fan I would ask, "ok, what are we doing about this scrimmage? how are we getting it to our fans?" When you pack the arena, that means there are tens of thousands of other Buffalonians all over the country that wish they could see it....Hell, make some T-shirts while you're at it. probably could have sold a couple thousand of them too!

I remember an interview where Brian Campbell talked about getting traded to the Blackhawks and how totally absent they were internally. He said they had zero relations department to help you get acclimated to the team and city. It crazy to think about but it seems different franchises operate so differently.

The things Ted Black was doing was probably light years ahead of the previous two regimes in Buffalo. It just seems the Pegula's are (frank)ing serious about reaching for the sky and won't hang onto anyone who doesn't share that vision. It's good their honeymoon loyalty streak is done.

yup. totally agree. I think they have done a lot to show players they're wanted here, but need to get on track with the fans. especially after the support they have gotten over the last 2-3 years, if not decade.

it's a slight upgrade where no upgrade was needed

I kind of like it, but it really puts the jays in a 4 year window with no proven arms

I don't think it's slight, the defensive upgrade alone makes it a pretty good move (depending on what minor leaguers went the other way).

I think the move is geared towards 2016 when they get Stroman back.

im indifferent on gibby. Anthopolous to an extent did a lot of similar things to what Murray has done.

Key difference of course would be age.

he should have gotten a closer in the offseason and a starter when marcus went down

gibby does a bad job with the bull pen IMO

It's hard to a good job with such a lousy cast though. Closer isn't a problem, Osuna is more than capable.

His undoing will be his two big trades in that one off-season (sound familiar?). Not only did he give the few great prospects we had, as of today i would take almost all of them over the mlb ready talent he got.

I wonder if they'll flip Tulowitzki for pitching, Padres maybe?

Urena is at least 2 years away
Lugo doesn't have the range

2 base is so weak, travis should not be considered to be moved

I have no clue what they are thinking

As a result of Tulowitzki's trade, he will receive a $2 million bonus and "his contract converts to include full no-trade clause from here on out,

I think they'd put goins there before moving travis. Didn't know he had NTC kicking in. Not sure how much success he'll have on turf.

Over the last three seasons, Reyes has played in 305 games. Tulowitzki has played in 304.
