What the hell has he done with the bills ?

can't wait to listen to his robotic press conference.

Ted black knew everything about hockey

does russ brandon know one hockey player in the NHL ?

- gerbe75pts

Sold a product successfully that was given to him in a small market. Black had little to do with roster decisions, Brandon will have the same role. The Bills sucked because of the dysfunction in the FO and that started and ended with (may he RIP) Ralph Wilson.

Russ Brandon came to the Bills from the Florida Marlins. It's selling a product, not know the sport inside and out. As much as I hate to agree with Bucky Gleason, despite the years of ineptitude we saw from the Bills, operationally, they were pretty much a well-oiled machine. On the field was obviously a different story. The Sabres over the past 5 years or so have been dysfunctional both on and off the ice.

Whatever happened w/ that rule, it was the best thing that happened to the Avs. When J Kroenke become President of the club, he actually opened the wallet for them and have been allowed to spend.

Before that, Stan didnt invest too much cash into the team, coaching staff, development, etc. He just cared about getting his LA stadium built and buying controlling interest in Arsenal FC

Similar thing happened to Chicago when their owner died. His son took over the team and it's been a much different organization.

Aside from dropping money during the super bowl years, ralph wison was a cheap owner that did little to ensure the bills ever had a chance to succeed from the late 60's til when he passed.

The 70's was a joke.
He did a good job bring Knox in, but too cheap to keep him and they quickly fell apart as quick as they got decent.
The only good thing he did was call out the titans owner and keep the team in Buffalo.

The Bills were struggling selling season tickets all through the 2000's. Russ Brandon did a great job of getting those numbers back up, despite a declining population. Despite this team being mediocre to terrible, there have been far fewer blackouts under his leadership. As long as he stays out of hockey decisions, he should be fine, as long as he casts aside the somewhat prevailing attitude over at One Bills Drive that the Sabres are inferior to the Bills as an organization in just about every aspect. Hopefully, that attitude has all but disappeared under the Pegulas.

Honestly, his job with the Sabres couldn't be any easier. Hey Buffalo come buy your tickets to see Jack Eichel before its too late and your on the outside looking in.

Sammy Watkins should play at RW on Eichel's line.
