First off thank you guys for putting in some solid dialog here! I always enjoy talking hockey so it's nice to talk to some other Wings fans even if its just speculation or our personal preferences. I do agree with RedDog that all those players would be an over payments for Eberle. I was more implying that those are the bodies I would be willing to part with for a player of his skill. The deal would likely involve more from their end to make it a deal, perhaps a draft pick and a prospect so that was we still clear roster space.

I have just always loved that idea because Edmonton has too many of the same players and eventually their cap will eat them up. They also desperately need help on the back end. Eberle is also RH which is just a bonus because he would be a sweet player to have....anyways moving on

I agree with others that Ericsson likely wont be moved....which is unfortunate to me because I'm not really sure what they see in him. Maybe its more the fact they haven't been convinced anyone is ready for top 2 minutes? Or perhaps that they are worried about putting him with anyone other than Kronwall? It's hard to say really thats what makes this year so interesting...there is less "Babcock World" and more KH and Blashill and it will be interesting to see if there was any favoritism that we seemed to notice (Glendening) -- Although I will admit I'm likeing Glen much more than I initially did lol ....

Okay lets talk about this....Out of Marchenko, Sproul and Ouelette ... who do you want to make it? Or who do you think will make it...and this is long term. I wont ask without giving my opinion... Oulette to me is expendable...small, left handed dman and unfortunately those dont fit our needs as talented as the kid may end up (which is why I'd trade him). Marchy looks the most ready at this time though he's also been given the most opportunity but I'd assume those go hand in hand. To me I just question his ceiling.....I see a guy who is solid and will give you what you expect...maybe a Brad Stuart type. To me Sproul is the most enticing with his size handedness and offensive ability... That guy is built to be a star...I'm not saying I watch GR games and follow our farm team religiously so you may be of a different opinion so please feel free!

personally i thought XO was the closest to ready

he seemed the most stable when in the lineup, the most confident and made the least mistakes or being out of position

March being right behind him

I agree, Ouellet was very confident and poised. Sproul, I haven't seen much of, but he has the best shot out of the 3. So I think he will be good on our PP in a year. I think Marchenko has the least upside, but will be super steady and great in his own zone. If I had to pick one that will have the least impact it would be him. Maybe Sproul, if his game doesn't translate to the NHL, but his upside is very high, plus he and XO have great chemistry.EDIT: But I firmly believe that all 3 will end up in a Detroit sweater for many years.

no way all 3 stay here long term. 2/3 would be great, trade one in a package

I think all 3 is a bit high of an estimated I agree XO looks really solid I just think Sproul has the attributes that we need. I would trade XO simply because I think he holds a lot of value and idk how many small Dmen we need. But if he's the best then can't really argue with that either.

next thing we need to address, is who to keep when expansion hits? we should have a blog written about that.
