Absolutely agree. If Konecny and Aube-Kubel can work their way into the lineup over the next 2 years, that would help. They need one more speedy winger on the left though, preferably someone with size.

The Flyers are probably, at best, a bubble playoff team. So roll with Umberger and Lecavalier one more season since more likely than not there's no real chance of the team getting anywhere near the cup, and get rid of them next summer while perhaps getting another decent draft pick. Of course I'm hopeful Umberger has a bit of a comeback year this upcoming season after his surgeries and whatnot. If he can play solid D while chipping in 10+ goals, though still not great production for his cap hit, it would be a helpful addition to the team.

I'm really not sure. Hakstol is a guy that puportedly wants to roll 4 lines in all situations and doesn't pigeon hole players/lines into situations.

If that's the case it could get ugly. Berube, for all the criticism, I thought did a good job of managing the game situation. They were rarely blown out but died from a slow bleed.

Almost as good as Jason Bowen.

the flyers f'd his development up. kept switching him back and forth from D to wing. Another guy who was big, could skate, would fight. Thought at worse he would be a bottom paring Dman.

1. Kimmo Timonen
The Finnish warrior was all heart and all class. If every player on the team worked as hard as Kimmo, they would never miss the playoffs. He is one of my all time favorite Flyers.

2. Michael Renberg
If not for a horrible abdominal injury, he could have put up some unreal numbers. Loved the way he played the game and the fact that he went all out, every minute, of every shift.

3. Pelle Lindbergh
So likeable, so talented. Why, dammit, why? We still miss ya, Gump!

4. Ilkka Sinisalo
Used to love seeing Sign Man put up the Ilkka Scora Goala sign after the smooth skating Finn would put one in. One of the most underrated players of the Keenan era.

5. Sami Kapanen
Yeah, I love my Finns. Sami was another little guy that was just all heart and effort. He was a fantastic 200 foot player and no one will ever forget how well he did when injuries forced him to play D during the '04 playoffs.

6. Peter Forsberg
He'd probably be #1 on this list if he had played here longer. Watching this guy play hockey was just a treat.

7. Jake Voracek
If he keeps playing the way he did last year, he is going to quickly move up this list. A great combo of size, skill and speed, he is one of the few current players that can just take over a game.

8. Kjell Samuelsson
Loved the big guy, in the clutch and grab era, he was a shutdown machine. His huge reach also was enormous on the PK and he had better puck skills than most people give him credit for.

9. Michael Handzus
The huge Slovak was a talented 2-way center who was able to use smarts and positioning to make up for his glaring lack of speed. He was another in a long line of great Flyer penalty killers.

10. Jaromir Jagr
Like Forsberg, if he had been here longer, he'd probably be much higher on this list. His work ethic is unparalleled and, even at age 43, you still can't get the puck off this guys stick.

The idea of Sam Gagner coming here and being a winger has been thrown around a lot. I've made a bold prediction that from here forward Sam Gagner will have a Danny Briere, and I'm going to include him working his way back to center.

I think it's great that you have that optimism for Gagner, and I certainly hope he has a strong offensive season. Personally, I want the centers on the team to all be strong two way, 200 foot players. I want players who are factors in all 3 zones. I don't see Gagner ever being that kind of player at center.
