Also Coburn or Nesterov from Tampa? We all expect Murray to do something by training camp right? I'd like Nesterov. Young and mobile and the 7th guy in Tampa but he would probably cost a bit plus a bad contract coming back too.

I don't, and i can't imagine im the only one. No combination of moves this off-season would have made this team a playoff contender. It will be more about mixing and matching players, developing chemistry, player growth and most importantly no longer looking like an echl club out there. I suspect the next big move will come at the draft.

IPA fans, try Ommegang's new Nirvana IPA. It's really good, and I'd hardly call myself an IPA fan.

Is the pro football hall of fame really preventing Seau's family from speaking at the induction? Am I missing something here or is this a stupid as it sounds?

This is why nobody on the right side of the pond respects the sport

Read the whole article. It's been the policy since 2010 to not have deceased players families speak. It's the HOF decision. Not the NFL's.

That much i knew, tweet i read did not mention the policy. But if it has been the policy since 2010 why is this particular instance a big deal?

I don't know about the policy, but assuming that's accurate, I think the answer is that the media realized they can easily spin this thing into a story. Not only did he die young, but he committed suicide. Plus, he suffered massive amounts of brain damage caused by playing football. Then, on top of that, his family is suing the NFL for wrongful death.

This thing is just ripe for the media to blow up to get more clicks.

How do people feel about Luke Schenn? He was highly toutedn showed signs of being great before ultimately struggling. He's probably available and not for much. Would anyone want to take a chance on him? I think I would.
- Bullet_Bills

For a 3rd round pick...sure. Anything more and I'd pass. He's barely a 4-5 guy on an awful defensive team in Philly

I think its worth a gamble. He has 1 yr left on his deal I believe. He'd have a chance to try and earn an extension or some big UFA dollars. If he doesn't pan out we flip him at the deadline or let him walk and go after Giordano in the summer.

Its not all about the playoffs. The Sabres lack depth depth at LHD and I would think Murray who has shown to be aggressive would want to address that. I'm all for playing with the lines and letting chemistry develop but I'd like to see another D added. Someone like Schenn who isn't old but is also only a year away from UFA would be perfect. He could work out great and resign or we could deal him at the deadline or let him walk and try something else.

They've added 2 lefties who have played in the nhl plus a third who could be ready in rochester. They've got "depth" it's just not particularly good, and there's really not much out there right now.

When healthy, colaiacovo was better than Schenn.

We do have a few 3rds too
And Schenn is still young enough that he can get better. He's at least a decent pro at worst.
It's worth a shot at least
