I wonder if the Leafs had permission to talk to Lou or did they shake hands come to term all 30 seconds after Lou quit

Shanahan (President) + Lou (GM) + Babcock (HC) / Toronto (Maple Leafs) * [TSN + SN + CBC (Media)] = Cup in 2147

Ok the next question is why the hell would you want him, he is 72. He is more interested these days about keepin an erection and did he remember his pills this morning , than winning a cup

Well for me, and only me, i think he can really help someone like Dubas and mold him to be the next GM. I like Hunter and i like Dubas. I think Lou can be someone that Kyle can ask advice/opinions on.

I think he adds a lot of class and reputation to the Leafs (along with Babcock). He's highly regarded and i don't doubt he has a ton of contacts throughout the league, something Kyle doesn't yet have.

It's obviously still Shanny's show. And he trusts Hunter and Dubas it seems. I don't personally think Lou will be doing too much, but as Shanny said all the while, he's another voice and opinion they can call on.

Still gonna be a slow rebuild through the draft imo.

If he has indeed gone senile then this makes a lot of sense.

If the plan is for him to mentor Dubas and let Dubas takeover in a year or 2 then I like it.

I can't imagine he plans on making any drastic moves in his 70's while the Leafs are finally dedicated to a proper rebuild
