I think doc emrick sucks behind the mic

I know I am in the minority on this

- homiedclown

I don't mind him...he's upbeat and is extremely knowledgeable about the game and the players...only "problem" I have is that he might packing in a little too much into his play-by-play...need a little breathing room

pete weber had some nice mentors while he was here

side note, I am not a fan of john murphy play call on the bills and I think kelso is horrible

mark stout offered more advice

Murphy is okay. Very average. He seems to have a bit of a cocky air to him. I don't hate him but it would be nice to have someone whose a little more genuinely passionate about the team. The new guy for the Sabres, whose name escapes me... tries his best. He's got impossible shoes to fill but at least you can tell he puts his all into it.

He's just so cheezy and I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle him when he was acting like the "Canniacs" Were the best hockey fans in the world against the Sabres...

Miller trolling much???

Only reason Canes won that series is because we had 4 of our top 6 defenceman injured and we still took it to 7 games...

As to my original point. It was ridiculous how clearly bandwagon the fans of the Hurricanes were and how Emmerick would just eat it up saying they were crazy rabid fanbase...

game 2 he gave up 4 goals on 35 shots
game 4 he laid an egg 4 goals on 25 shots
no reason why that series shouldn't have been 3-1 sabres after 4 games instead of a split

game 5 is a 4-3 loss in OT, both teams had 26 shots

game 7 ward clearly outplayed him

I made a simple statement, he got outplayed by the cane goalies and every stat backed it up

wasn't a miller bash, til you went there

injuries didn't keep the oilers from getting to the finals in that year

conservative coaching for games 5 and 7, piss poor special teams and average goaltending cost us the series

While it was definitely a string of bad luck, there was no doubt that Carolina was the more physical team in that series. The Sabres were a finesse team, and that was essentially their downfall in both 2006 and 2007.

I'm not saying they gave up in 07 but Briere and Drury looked a tad disinterested at times. I am of the opinion had they been given contracts, they get past the Sens.

Peter Laviolette is 2-0 versus the Sabres in playoff series, and in both series' he has started two different goaltenders. Go figure.

Miller laid an egg in game 1 vs the sens and went 1-3 in 1 goal games after that
