He played I think 73 games this year, and was great. But it's the first time he's been a full-time starter in his career (I'd consider 50+ games a "full-time" starter), so I'd say it's pretty high. I'd say $5-$6M is more than fair.

Schneider's extension was 7 years at $6M per. You think that Holtby has that much more experience that he can command $8M per? I don't. Two years as the "more than the other guys" starter and one great season starting 70+ games is not worth $8M per, to me. - jmatchett383
No, I think he's only asking for $8m in arbitration because the Caps haven't offered him a long term deal at a more reasonable number.

me thinks he wont be a full time coach or scout. maybe a rover type as his kid plays ice hockey locally and I would assume he may want to watch him play.
I figured you'd like that. We can't have all that pointless violence in the sport. I hate it when they imitate MMA guys and put each other in triangle chokes and kick each other in the face, although it's quite the feat to pull off in skates, those things are heavy.
