as mentioned a bit earlier, add Bruce/Baker to the list along with Entwhistle/Moon and McVie/Fleetwood

And, on bass, Steve Harris from Iron Maiden is fantastic

jimi hendrix experience was underrated as well imo. redding and Mitchel were good.

My boss is a metal guitarist.

He says it takes no skill. It's just string jumping exercises, basically.

He always said the people that think metal guitarists are good because of the speed aspect of it don't know enough about the instrument.

I never got into the Dead. Their music just does nothing for me. Same with Bob Dylan.

I love 'em. Easy going music, technical, but not overly technical. Each song has layers of sound to pick apart and dissect. Love it.

Music is like ice cream, we all have our fave flavors, there is no right or wrong

Great minds think like me.

Myself, The Beatles and Pink Floyd are #1 and #2. Animals is far and away my favorite album of all time

People that poop on Ringo are just stupid.

Let's sit down and watch this video and realize that he was a (frank)ing awesome drummer.

Kashmir is, to me, their best work.
- jmatchett383

Off the top of my head, in terms of the great ones, I was thinking Kashmir (#1 for sure), Stairway, the Rain Song (one of Jimmy's best acoustic works), No Quarter, When the Levee Breaks (it's a cover, but MAN, that's an awesome song. Drum open and that slide open always hooks me in), and Ten Years Gone.

The Rain Song is (frank)ing great.

If I remember correctly, Jimmy has his guitar tuned to an A7 for that

Yup, great live band, though sometimes the "space" part of the show bored me

Mitch Mitchel is (frank)ing awesome.

I tried to play Hey Joe...

Tried.

Let's just say I need to work on that

For some reason the Battle of Evermore is my favorite LZ song. Lots of great choices though.

When the Levee Breaks is one of my all-time least favorite songs. Talk about a slow repetitive song that goes nowhere.

The fact that Bonham and Baker are not #1 and 2 make this list irrelevant. Peart is not the best. Sorrryyyy
- Giroux_Is_God

I don't agree with the entire list, but I think Rolling Stone Magazine knows a little more than you and I.

I think Beatles for Sale might be mine. Words of Love

I've played Dr. Robert at gigs before. The "well well well"s are typical Beatles- sound easy right? Hahaha NO.

Me and my dad play a rousing rendition of Two Of Us.

And Wheels of Fire is amazing too! Cream is probably my second favorite band. They just don't have a huge history. Only together about 2.5 years.

Any band that can have an 11-minute bass drum solo mid-song is impressive to me.

So, to sum up:
1. If you don't like Led Zepplin, your opinion of music is wrong.
2. Ringo Starr was a hack
3. No musicians in metal bands have any talent.

Baker was awesome. He's flipped his friggin lid these days. He's a bitter old man living away from society. Pretty sad. What a talent. Especially since most of the time he was a zombie when he was playing.
