Seems to me like an almost lateral deal, except Bolland contract is 10x worse than Bozak's and that negates whatever edge Gudbranson MIGHT HAVE over Gards IMO.
Either add a 2nd coming our way or switch Bolland to Campbell, Jokinen or Mitchell.......and even then we might be able to get a 3rd or 4th rounder included.

Somehow in the next year or two the leafs need to add a young right shot top pairing Dman to play with Rielly. Guessing it'll have to be through the draft, those players never become available outside of Dougie Hamilton I guess. Would of been a great pick up.

Well I've only seen the few highlights I could find of him online. Seems like a big kid with great skating and solid positionally. Got a good shot and seems to handle the puck well.
Him or Matthews would be huge for the rebuild but I think with the players the leafs added and Babcock's systems they'll probably finish just outside the top 5. Hopefully they grab one of the lottery picks

People seem to be enthralled with the "big mean stay at home dman". It's just not how it works anymore. They can't keep up. When they do get the puck in their own zone, they can't do anything with it.
Guys that can't skate and can't move the puck are becoming obsolete.

I don't think EG has any problem getting around I think he just gets out of position trying to be overly aggressive. If he could figure that out and they could get him for a trade based around Bozak I think he could be a solid partner for Gardiner on a second pairing. He's tough and seems to have some good leadership abilities.
