My friend from Mackies here in Oshawa moved him on Monday from a Condo downtown to another one in Yorkville.He wasnt there but two assistants were.Shanahan took pictures of every peice of furniture and had it moved into almost the exact location in the New condo.They were fairly similar layouts.They were not even offered a glass of water or allowed to ask the assistants any questions about him.There wasnt anything there at all that was NHL related.I guess his main residence is still NewYork?

I don't know if my opinion or attitude would change; but if I were rich and famous, I would be there on moving day, help out (a little bit)talk to the crew, sign autographs, tap a keg, make seafood pizza and steaks on the BBQ (AFTER work was done). Seems that a) fame and wealth make people antisocial and or b) ARE successful BECAUSE they are antisocial /driven/ outcasts, etc. Some of the happiest, smartest, kindest and /or interestingest people I know are garbage men, farmers, blue collar types. I don't think you need to trade your humanity for fame and fortune. IMHO

Ok, ok. My suggestion is a BIT much. Making a brief appearance for the sake of monitoring progress, and have the goodies catered is reasonable. Say hi and thank you. It IS his new home and he'll need to visit eventually to unpack and rearrange. Would make anyone on the moving crew (that cares about hockey) eternally grateful. Less breakage and theft and they would have a great story for their grandkids.
