I really feel as tho they should trade him. still worried about him reverting back to his old self. - JoeRussomanno
Del Zotto had a pretty good year last season but was awful the year before to the point that nobody wanted him. I think the trade market for him is in wait and see mode regarding this season. Another good year and I could see some teams willing to trade for him at the deadline.
If the team doesn't improve much in the standings this season, it could be a very active trade deadline for Hextall. L. Schenn, Gagne, B. Schenn, and Raffl are all at the end of their deals and Streit has only one year left. Del Zotto could be in that group too.

Really? I hear that, aside from 2 years ago, he's been really good. I'm sure Hextall spends 80% of his day turning down trade offers for MDZ.

I wouldn't say 80%. He also has to find time for L.Schenn trade calls as well.

Not likely. If MDZ proves last season was no fluke, he'll be an UFA next summer and teams can sign him for nothing. He'll price himself right out of Philly. It's very much a "wait and see" thing IMO as far as the rest of the league is concerned.

Even though you shave years off the financial obligation, Lupul is just one of those guys who is snake-bitten -- even though it's not his fault, he almost can't stay healthy.
He has topped 60 games played twice since 2008-09, his last season with the Flyers -- but even in those years, he didn't reach 70 games
He is unlucky, to be sure, but he just can't stay healthy

The real question is. If Lupul scores 20-25 playing with Giroux and Voracek and plays in 70 games would he have more value than MacDonald assuming MacDonald plays slightly better than last year? Both are ifs. I feel Lupul has higher end talent when healthy. Not sure I would do the deal though.

Hey, you know what? That's not a bad argument, and Lupul is skilled enough where that could actually happen
I also think he cares about playing hard and winning
If something like that did happen, it wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing, tbh

But yeah, cutting years from that albatross contract would be worth any short term pain w/ Lups, IMO. Guy can play left too, which we definitely need.
Don't see TO accepting AMac back tho... not w/ that # loving management group

I always liked Lupul and they say he matured when he went to TO.
