Why are you blaming Botchford? In this instance, he is reporting what was supposedly told to a season ticket holder.

We are on a hockey rumour site so this is the stuff that we eat up. Botch is just recognising and feeding that hunger for canucks' news.

And before you bring up the whole, "well, botch is a journalist and they should have a higher standard blah blah blah," that boat sailed long ago.

Just tired of the crap they print like its actual news. Maybe.....or this could happen.....or what if....I heard......is this hispening?.....so on.....

I dont mackenzie doing crap like that much

We have enough of thar in hockey mad cities without it being reported as actual factual news.

Botch is a trouble maker.

I like him.

- bloatedmosquito

I've talked to him a few times (mutual friends). He is like how comes across (at least to me): easily offended if you don't agree with him.

Would fit in perfectly here.

Now there is a topic for debate; Rush, love them or hate them?

I always think that anyone who believes everything he reads/hears isn't smart enough to know the truth.

I for one, like to hear almost everything. The line I draw is personal stuff. But if it's hockey related, have at it.

Love the TPB cameo, love the drummer, can not stand the lead singer.
- CubanBuffet

I also saw that documentary. I was shocked to see that Alex Lifeson was a male prostitute.

Hate is a strong word, but I have never owned a Rush album, and the only songs I know are Tom Sawyer and the Bob & Doug McKenzie christmas song featuring Rush.

I love Rush - pretty much their entire catalogue is quality stuff ("Moving Pictures" is such a phenomenal work it's not even possible to describe lol). Always wanted to emulate how Leifson plays. Also, just a super professional outfit. They always put on a great show without any of the usual 'rockstar' bulls*hit

Love them. They will go down as one of the musical geniuses of this generation. They are the modern day Mozart and in 300 years they will be looking upon Rush the way we look upon Musicians like Mozart today. You can take that to the bank. Never have I seen a band evolve like Rush over the decades. Sure the post Counterparts stuff leaves a but to be desired but man consistency to the nines.

It makes you wonder...what did it really take for those three guys to get together to produce so much perfection? It boggles the mind...

Totally agree. I am even on board with the synth era stuff starting with Signals and Power Windows...some of their best stuff. I had a meet/greet with Geddy and Alex bout 15 years ago and asked them what was the toughest record they ever had to do...they said Grace Under Pressure by a WIDE margin. Lifeson said to me it took them over 88 takes of the FULL album to get what they wanted...unreal

Or maybe he's telling the truth and it's Linden who's backpeddling?

Is this anything like a coach that is on his last contract year and the gm comes out and endorses him (this often happens after a loss or two)?

Next time Higgins sees TL, TL will give him a big hug like they have been best buds for years, sneak in a kiss, and Higgins will be traded within 24hrs....

That's incredible but just shows you how committed the band was to providing a quality product. I don't think they ever cut corners or disappointed with any of their compositions (or live shows, for that matter) I remember I was just really getting into music when my friend's brother was playing all this retro-stuff, much of it including Rush, and I was instantly blown away. Since then it's been amazing to watch their evolution. For a three person band, to be able to play such complex pieces with such an incredibly a rich and full sound, it's really quite mindblowing. They've now played for decades yet they still sound fresh - a testament to their level of creativity and prolific songwriting//musicianship skills.

I think they will definitely be a band that is remembered as one of the best of its era - or even any era, for that matter. Just not enough superlatives to summarize their work

It does actually. I was previously a pro musician and hold a degree in music and im amazed by them. I feel peart is a huge part of that with his strange timings etc. Doubt the guitars would have created that syncopation you hear in some parts, thatsba drummers work. And tom sayer is mind blowing in how he created that....where on earth did that come from? Wow.

In their documentary peart even says before every show his hope that he can play tom sayer right even after 30 years.

Theres a reason he was best drummer on esrth by a landslide for 25 years till the student mike portnoy dethroned him.
