I know but somehow they cant find an agreement. And I doubt it is a money issue alone as clearly MDZ knows that they cant give him AMac paycheck
Or are they just arguing about term of the contract ?

- goenzoy

This is all part of the game, they will find an agreement. It's absolutely a money issue.

Nope. We should all give them a heads up though.

You know, just to be polite.

Personally, I think they should draw straws.

Agree but still think its worth a try to let MDZ play a LW position

He's been a defenseman his entire NHL career. He's a defenseman.

Yes but he is still young and it will be good for the game
Hiring a college coach was also thinking outside the box

How is it good for the game? In your opinion, what is Del Zotto's best asset as a defenseman?

Gordon has what seems like an impressive resume, let's hope he has a knack for developing players for the next level. Watching AHL I try not to get too caught up in wins and losses, but more into each individual growing and maturing in what hopes to be an NHL career.

In my view MDZ best asset is his speed and his offensive zone blue line shots
But turning MDZ into a LW was meant more general.Any team should have a (ONE ) player who could play D-man and FW depending on the game situation

Was that part of the Hextall sales pitch to him for the job?

It's just money. It's really not that big of a deal. Arbitrator will decide and that will be the end of it.

I agree with the first comment basically. In today's NHL, you just can't generate enough offense and attack time without getting offense from the defenseman. Del Zotto's strongest asset is coming late on the rush, filling holes, and getting good offensive chances. The Flyers need that element in the lineup. That is a big reason why moving him to LW is a bad idea.

As far as the last comment, if that is true, then why don't teams do that? Has the NHL just not caught up to that theory?

Another coach and great all 3 assistant coaches are still there
But does anybody know what Craig Berube is doing
Do blame him as the only one for last season is a bit tough and since he was fired
ABSOLUTELY no news about him not even rumors

- goenzoy

I thought he was an ok coach that had glaring communication issues

That being said the last thing I heard about him he was fishing with dean ween

good stuff

but lack of pretzel picture has left me still yearning

What happened? Was there a new stress fracture? I saw something that they have to graft the fracture. Well is that the old fracture or a new fracture? Initially it was reported they saw "something" in the mri or catscan. Was that something a new fracture?

Lots of questions about what it is exactly. seems like for every illgaskas there's a handful of bowies, mings, odens. This isn't good

It looks like there are only a few players who did both but still as a LW MDZ could score more and I m sure one of the young guns ( D prospects ) could do the late rush job MDZ did well

Or he could be terrible at it. I'm just curious is every team should have a player that moves back and forth between defense and wing, why more teams don't do it? They don't because it's a bad idea.

The young defenseman may not be ready for the NHL this season, and may go back to Juniors, and/or the AHL>

Admit it. You aren't a fan by any means. You think he's a poor hire. They could have found better.

No I prefered the 2 junior names I was pushing but I am not upset by any means at this hire.
