I thought the Bailey-Cornel-Dupuy line was the best line in the game for the first 2 periods last night.
- Pierceme69

Yes, Dupuy, has good size, skates strong, is so smooth he starts to sneak up on people, then he makes one quick move and his release was explosive. I don't know much about the player, if he was an invite or a prospect.......He played a mature game, like Rinehart, let the game come to him.

Agreed sippy. I think Zads and Risto would have been the #1 pairing this year. Oh well.
- mhp

Agreed but I guess you gotta give to get. Regarding the "d", if we go into the season "as is" I am thinking we are going to lose a lot of 3 - 2 and 4 - 3 games. No doubt that we have much better fire power up front but will they ever get the puck if Weber, Colio and Donovan are on the ice? Hopefully Murray can pull a "Garth Snow" in September and snag a top 4 D from a salary cap team.

McCabe may look good but Gorges is still a big ? With his knee and Weber is still in the top 7 so I think you're wrong. We will add another dman via trade or FA.
- turbo044

Oduya and Franson are pretty much it in FA and seems like a trade is not gonna happen till camp, if it all. We don't know about Gorges and that's the biggest question mark at this point because he's probably in the #1 pairing with Risto. I have a feeling we might be surprised at camp with Matt Donovan.

The rumor is, they asked for risto and GMTM countered with Zads. I guess for all intenets and purposes, "you deal with this russian problem" was a decent compromise.

I believe that Murray, who has stated this philosophy as his own, has "identified" a # of D-men that he has alocated "certain" picks/prospects for. Those D-Men include the difficult acquiring a FA Top 4 Left D within a contract structure that fits Murray's blueprints. Trade for D-Men is the more likely route, if so, this would explain the patience he has shown and will continue to show up until Sept when he calls up his "3" suitors and offers his best offer to all of them. Explaining that they are all in with varying degrees, then makes a deal getting a D-Man like (Yandle) (Shatenkirk)(22-26 yr old I don't know) If he can't get one of his identified players, there is no logic behind forcing your hand from a position of weakness at this stage in your Rebuild.

general fanager has him listed as a contractual player in the system. I gotta think he'll be in Rochester this year.

Out of curiosity since you were vocally anti tank will you be cheering against Reinhart and Eichel, given what they represent?
