You paid 7.5 million AAV and you want to play him out of position. Put ROR where he belongs, on the wing. Sabres gonna Sabres .
- blacksheep1

he's actually a center who was caught up in a numbers game in Colorado, that's why they had him play some wing

new toy factor

this team is built around ROR, Eichel and Reinhart

that will be half of the top 6 for the next decade and it's up to kane and ennis to prove they are in the long term plans the next 2 seasons IMO

- homiedclown

How has Ennis not proven he's in the long term plans, as bad as this team has been he's been one of the few who have been solid, and that's without quality line mates.

All he needed to do was get bigger and get faster and he did that he will be in the NHL imo he did everything the sabres ask for
- gerbe75pts

I think he added a little bulk, but skating is still an minor issue...imo, it will come to a point in the near future where his size and skating ability will be maxed out, it's there where his hockey sense will need to take over...still just a little too green for that to be a factor

I need proof that he's ready. Unfortunately I live in the mid-west and rely on the internet. From watching him in his 9 game stint last year he really wasn't ready. I wouldn't mind getting proved wrong though.
- Sabre_Tooth

when October comes you'll see him that's all I can say he won't be in the AHL you all can quote me on that

Extremely Ironic coming from a Sabres fan. The team's best talent has to leave in order to win a cup. And secondly, I know while in tank mode to Freaken&Eichel, you might have missed a brief but exciting playoff appearance by the jackets.

How has Ennis not proven he's in the long term plans,.
- nikel

A. Murray did not Draft him

B. Is he a top 6 player on a cup competing team

C. Is he a piece to get one of those players Murray wants (top 4 d man)

the new gm isn't a hoarder, if it's not in his plans, they are going to be gone

Did you not see what work he put in ? Some of you guys are as acting like he's a 2nd round pick its like you completely forgot how dominant he is
- gerbe75pts

The round he was picked in is inconsequential.

And I'm not sure anyone has seen him dominate at an NHL level yet, that's the whole point....if he shows that now I imagine he stays, if not then he needs some time in Rochester.

We need to keep Ennis, IMO. He put up 40+ points with virtually no cast. Plus he is one of the very few that has some speed to him (Last year)

Its very simple. Him or Girgs plays the 2nd line RW spot. Zemgus is ready for it but Sam might start out in the AHL for all we know.

Assuming we trade Foligno and Larsson for a top 4 Left handed d man lines look like...

Kane-ROR-Ennis
Moulson-Eichel-Reinhart
McGinn-Girgensons-Gionta
Deslauries-Legwand-McCormick

Bogo-Risto
Shattenkirk?-Gorges
Pysyk-Weber
Carlo

Lehner
Johnson

Ennis should NOT be in any trade. He was one of the few bright spots past few years...now imagine how he will do with actual talent near him

The previous 4 he played center and was a 2nd/3rd player. Congrats on paying almost 8 million a year to an inferior version of Brandon Dubinsky.

Murray expects Reinhart to be here. From his mouth to everyone's ears. Samson will be here.
