Man 'o man...if this scenario plays out there'll be alot of HB posters walking around in a catatonic state by late August...

...I know I'll be one of 'em.

If Stan hasn't cleared the space by the convention he will need a Josh Earnest type to take questions.

Get rid of Rocky 1-6 and that should do it...especially the first one where the big meatball is running all around Philly muttering stuff to people incomprehensibly and jumping up and down at the top of the steps of the art museum like a lunatic to that horrible music.

The strip joints in Montreal would see a serious increase in revenue. Great for the economy.

copy the url of the image you want to post, so if you're on google images click "view image" and use that url, then when you're posting click the "Img" button, paste the url, and click the "Img*" button again.

Thanks. The image is on my desktop. Should the image show up in the preview? Do I need to hit the "Img" radio button at the bottom? I'm pretty tech savvy but tripping over this one - lol.

Yea it should show up in the preview. Not sure if you can post images from your hard drive. Someone else would have to help you with that. The only way I know how to post them is grabbing them from the web and using their url and the "Img" button.

Hey MQ, is the financial issue there isolated to a few teams or league wide? Sochi is/was being sued by its players - no one had been paid since December or something. I'm sure some teams are in better financial condition than others but it sounds like a mess.
- tredbrta

You mean in KHL? I have a friend who is goalie for a KHL team and he said that there are few really rich and good teams but after that lots of teams in financial troubles. That crisis in Ukraine is making negative impact too. But the hole culture there is really weard one. Owners don't have any patient there and so on. Hole different world there.

Here's the landmine of different you're missing:

- Saad was a RFA with a very limited amount of success in the NHL.

- Seabrook is a 3 time Cup winner, one of the elite defensive players, at a much tougher position to fill.

HUGE difference.

I'd have seen Saad having more possibility of moving or at least getting offer sheeted because he was RFA. Seabs is not that. Also, Saad is way more replaceable that Seabs is.

Reports of KHL's demise are greatly exaggerated. After all the rumors of massive contraction and league-wide instability, the league will have 28 teams this season. Just like last season.

The only team to fold, Atlant Mystychi (based out of suburban Moscow), is being replaced by the historic Spartak Moscow, who are returning to the league under new ownership. That move is a net gain.

Things aren't perfect, but they never were. To be honest, the NHL was fairly volatile in it's early years as well. The KHL is about to begin its 8th season - still very early in their existence.

The rich teams - SKA St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Salavat Yulaev, Dynamo Moscow, etc. - all do very well. The lower-level teams struggle financially and on the ice. That is neither surprising nor devastating to the league's long-term plans.

Anyway, it is a fascinating league to follow. Think WHA with a Russian flavor if you REALLY want to oversimplify things. And the hockey is much, much better than it gets credit for being.

The thing I don't care for is their lack of conditions regarding medical services as well as travel with those planes that shouldn't be in service...HBO's Real Sports did a piece a couple of years back on it regarding the Locomotiv plane crash and recently updated it around the Olympics...apparently in 2014 they still weren't using planes that were safe...hopefully something has been done by now...

by the way for anyone that hasn't seen the Red Army film yet I highly recommend it...
