Kruger not filing for arbitration tells me 100% that Bowman has conveyed a plan to both Kruger and Oduya and that contracts probably have already been approved/agreed upon. Once salary is shed you'll hear about that.

All different stories going around...When someone has the correct story they get bragging rights otherwise it can be a merry go around of hearsay. I also think stories are planted with a purpose....More often than most think.

I told u Seabrook rumors would be coming...Got asked about him yesterday.

- Al

They, stories, are most certainly planted as spin control. When part of these internal conversations get leaked, teams, agents go into spin control. Not all the information is out there, so what is, is immediately shot down when that discussed rumor/trade doesn't happen. Why? Nobody wants to be looked as have "failed".

How many times did Sharp's agent keep coming out of the wood work last summer to shot down rumors his name was being floated around, most notably by Kryperos. A ton. Agent went so far as to claim ON RECORD he spoke to Stan, and basically put the onus on Hawks to live up to "their word".

in the days of Tallon this organization was more transparent about said UFA handlings, or trades. Recall the whole Marty Havlat UFA debacle and Havlat going a-wall on twitter, and Tallon stating they offered him a deal and he refused. No way that goes down under the Bowman/McDonough regime TODAY. That's the McDonough way, control the information/narrative, that is out there. It's not a wrong way or right way. It's the Hawks way.

So again.........I think John gets MORE right then most, but I don't believe anyone has ALL the shape/color/size of any deal correct. If so, I'm pretty sure the hawks could and would, narrow down the leaks and remove them ASAP. Hell, the beat guys don't even seem to be all getting the same information, and I bet they are all using the same "sources"................

Hey....let me know if you need help getting down from that high horse.
- nurk

Umm, okay buddy. One contract style was eliminated as a loophole, one is a replacement of an injured player. There's no high horse as I wasn't even remotely judging anyone.

6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers
No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful. Talk more about hockey and less about each other. Although playful banter is allowed, that does not mean anything goes, if the banter breaks any part of the code of conduct, it isn’t playful and it is not acceptable. When “Player X stinks" turns into "You stink" you've crossed the line. And yes, the Moderators decide where the line is.

Correct, and to do that.....Bowman MUST feel VERY confident he is CLOSE to having that same salary ready to move. Otherwise, those said players are probably losing money by the day as potential suitors move on to other assets to sign.

There is no urgency for Bowman to do anything until the guys HE is chasing give him a deadline or go elsewhere. Right now, both Oduya/Kruger, are doing the team a favor and patiently waiting.

think Oduya has been getting calls? He as to have been right?

Also, I think Hammer is one of the main reasons he is willing to wait around. At the end of game 6, during the celebration those two were huggin it out and having some important words (seemingly)

In Oduya's case, could be a pretty big favor. Probably cost himself term and $$ if that space isn't cleared. Agree, Stan and Oduya's agent must be confident he will clear it.

Don't they have until the start of camp to get down to the cap? Why not just announce the signing now? It's probably the worst kept secret anyway

And if anyone wants to argue this spin thing...........

Look at Saad. From the time the Hawks won the cup, and even before, all we heard about is how Bowman and saad both wanted a deal done. Nobody ANYWHERE had anything other then Saad signing.........

Then later on, after the initial talks started to happen between Hawks/Columbus, you get a leak to Zawaski about the price Saad wanted to be a lot higher then what the Hawks could afford, etc......and what happens? The next day......he is gone. Coincidence? Not a chance in hell. Not all the details, or even the team(s), just that you saw the whole thing in a lesser then positive light.....

What happens.......some fans blame saad for "being greedy". You have columnists insisting the Hawks got pissed and shipped Saad to hockey hell........amazing how it works.......those columnists had sources, yet Bowman said he no ill feelings in his presser..........

Amazing.

You are the one that EK should be banning as all you do is instigate with your comments. You are listed as a Blackhawk follower from Philly area which I highly doubt that you are anything but a Philly fan

Go away or at least stop trying to get a EK to ban anyone you don't agree with

Its not really surprising though. That's why you gotta think what you wanna think, not what columnists tell you to think.

Columbus isn't hockey hell. They're on their way to something good. And theres a bunch of hot college chicks in the immediate area.

No question he has. Some guys are willing to take less to play with buddies or teams, some guys want market value. Doesn't make either one right or wrong to take a hometown discount.

I saw the same thing when I was at that game. I also saw Bowman and Saad having a pretty genuine conversation as well.......and we know how that turned out.

Speculating that they may have used the overage with some of the new contracts back from CBJ or even before. It may have actually been impossible for them to match an OS sheet on Saad at $6.5m. Not sure how to check where that stands though.

I know, but I have friends who are "new age" hcokey fans who spouted off that as some slight to saad. Please. Columbus will be a playoff team and could make a run in a very weak EAST. I think Saad will be perfectly OK there.....

yes, lots of hot women there......I enjoyed Eddie George's bar on a buckeye Saturday.......only to be 21-23 again......

your opinion.
- nurk

Hardly and opinion there mostly logical assessment ...Likely wouldn't have finished with same record and there was cap space for Vermette if Smith was traded for picks/prospects...which wouldn't have been an issue.

No one knows anything absolutely but to say Kane's injury was the biggest factor in winning the Cup is silly....Can't know if Kane would have had more of an impact if not coming off an injury also don't know if they fare better or worse with other matchups.

Luck is always involved but almost always the best team wins the Cup.

All I know for sure is this was one of the most impressive Cup runs ever....

I said this earlier today. It really could take that long unless Kruger or Oduya are driving the urgency. For all we know, Stan has some contingency that he already told Oduya and Kruger's agents so they are comfortable with waiting.
