The only guy "playing" GM is Bowman...I'm not sure you understand the process.

Sharp has his list and Bowman has conversations with those clubs regarding Sharp. Many of these teams likely have zero interest in Sharp, or can't afford him, so the list is shortened.

If clubs NOT on Sharp's list are interested they are free to contact either Bowman or Sharp's agent to inform them they'd like to talk. If the talks go well Sharp'e agent is contacted to discuss possibly reconsidering the "list".

The submitted list is a starting point, but if nothing can be worked out other clubs can enter the conversation. Sharp has a negotiated right to veto or accept the offers from clubs not on the list.

It's not rocket science.

Do you know that Fla was/is not on his list? I'm under the assumption that Fla is (because I have no proof that Fla isn't). Under that assumption, he should not be putting demands on the deal.

Just for your information; one of my friends , who was sitting one row in front of my seats in the 300 level did not renew his two seats last year. This year every game I went to had different people sitting in those seats. I thought those seats would be given to the next in line from the waiting list. I finally asked a couple who sat in his seats and they told me they got the seats via Ticket master. This is not the first time that the Hawks management gave the non renewed tkts to their tkt supplier. Three years ago a loyal Hawk season tkt holder for over 15 years gave his tkts up because he was retiring and moving to Florida. Those tkts have been sold by the Hawks tkt supplier. In my opinion, the only way you will ever get season tkts is to know Rocky or high management.....sorry to say. Our President of the Hawks started the gambit with the Cubs If the demand for tkts are high , Cut down on the sales of season tkts. ..and make more money selling via their tkt provider.

Correct. However, I do not believe that is the case. I believe that Florida was on the list, the team negotiated a deal, something led him not to want to go there so he came up with a demand allowing him to escape there at the deadline if he didn't like what was going on. This is why I believe the statement today tweeted by one of the reporters "Sharp has not been contacted to waive his NTC" is irrelevant to the JJ/CBS florida rumor.
- UCSB616

If they were on the list, why would they ask him anything. They don't need to. They are abiding by their side of the agreement. Why make it more complicated?

Sorry but I dont feel bad.. Hes getting damn near 6 million a year to play a game. Buy a house where you want to be and stay there in the off season. Im sure he will be fine.
- z1990z
Or do what a lot of pro athletes do. Rent a place during the season and come home when you can and in the off season. Bring the family to you on weekends when you playing at home and when school is on vacation. Lots of Pro Athletes do this so why can't Sharp? I think Soupy had as strong of a NTC or maybe stronger. He saw the writing on the wall. He said ok to a trade to Florida. Then a bad Florida team. At

During the purge After the Hawks won the Cup in 2010 , I believe Stan had to decide between Sharp and Ladd who would be the last Hawk to be traded In a Tribune article Sharp said he begged Stan to keep him because he just bought a condo.
I would think Shaw owed Stan a favor?

If Sharp should have no loyalty or not do any favors for the Hawks, as some suggest, then Bowman and the Hawks should have no loyalty for Sharp.

Therefore, if I were Stan, I would start SHOPPING Seabs and when the beat writers inquire, I would tell them 'off the record' that if I can't move Sharp, I have to move Seabs and possibly Crawford. This is how it works in big biz, boys & girls.

Then Sharp can address that with the media and his locker room.

If Sharp is putting "demands" on the supposed deal to FLA, then FLA is NOT on his list.

Sharp has no control over deals worked out with clubs on the list he provided.

Unless Taylor Hall with 1/2 half of his salary retained, drasalti (spell) and a 1st round are coming back, NO....please God NO.

If someone's getting Seabs, they better blatantly overpay. Love Seabs, need him to keep winnimg

Unlikely, but if it happened I'm guessing Nurse would be a must have for Stan. There would have to me more obviously. I hope Seabs is a Blackhawk for his entire career.

Why is this so difficult?

Sharp's contract REQUIRES that he provide a list of teams he would accept a trade to...unconditionally. Therefore, no changes allowed.

If FLA is on the list, Sharp MUST accept any trade Bowman works out.

Sharp only has "veto" power for deals that involve clubs NOT on his list.

That isn't nearly enough. Also the wrong type of players. The deal would have to start with RNH, their best D prospect(Nurse), and a non protected 1st. Even that is a crappy trade for the Hawks with where they are as a team.

The reality is Edmonton has nothing to replace the value that Seabrook brings to the Hawks. That they would be willing to move. And RNH makes more than Seabrook, so it really doesn't help with the cap and make it worse in reality.

It's not difficult to understand. Do you know for sure that FLA is not on the list? If Fla was not on his list, all he had to say was "NO"! Right?

Anyone remember Brian Campbell? He married a Chi lady and didn't want to go to Florida. But he relented and went.

If Campbell doesn't go to Florida, there would probably not have been a Cup in 2013.

- KingB

South Florida became more palatable after a hearing his name linked to Columbus.
There is pressure on a player to make a deal work..Campbell wasn't the most fan appreciated player on the team and I think he knew he would have to leave one way or the other.

"Bob" probably left his glasses in the car and thought he saw Seabrook when it was actually Cody Franson. That's the guy you should sign and give him a max. deal @ Drew Doughty money.

Perhaps we're talking past each other here.

The "rumor" regarding Sharp and FLA is that he refused to accept the trade because FLA wanted him to stay for a number of years. Basically FLA wanted a NTC to keep Sharp in FLA, but Sharp wanted an out-clause in the event that FLA remained bad. (I think I have that correct)

The only way Sharp could dictate any terms is if FLA was NOT on his list, otherwise he'd be guilty of breach of contract.

He is amazing and is in my opinion the best overall player in the league and he's worth every penny but anybody saying that he gave a hometown discount or he thought of the team moving forward is lying to themselves...he's thinking about his pocketbook if not he and Kaner could of taken a 9 mill contract and with that they would of been able to retain the likes of Sharp so his loyalty (and Kane) goes only as far as the Hawks were willing to pay him, don't kid yourself.......
- Hawkster

Are you not giving proper credit to the pressure he must have felt and surely heard as that arguably "best overall player in the league" to establish this new (or at least current) high water mark for salaries which in some way helps raise the salaries of about every other player in the league?
