Stick to the hockey rumors, science/engineering analogies aren't your strength.

Not trolling - I actually read your content regularly because I think you are one of the better writers on here.

So if your boss called you into his office today and said "hey we appreciate everything you have done here but we have an opportunity for you to work in our Afghanistan office" you would just take it right because they gave you the original opportunity and you owe it to your company to do whatever they say?
- nurk

That would be the Arizona Coyotes....the Panthers are the Miami Beach office and YES, I would gladly go to South Beaech. ...Again, it is within his rights and he can veto all he wants to veto. Go for it. Back StanBo into an even smaller corner Sharpie. YOU EARNED IT! NOW this kind of situation, where Sharp is limiting the market even further, is how you get a 3rd round pick straight up for Patrick Sharp.

Sharp's request was that ownership allow him to bang all of their wives and half of the players wives with no repercussions.

I kid, I kid.

Hoping something happens soon on any front. We need to clear salary to bring two important pieces back.

How much would it suck though to have to keep Bickell and Versteeg and lose Crow? I'd rather have it the other way around, but man.. that's called Stan is eating a feces sandwich if that goes down.

Ya, that hardly qualifies as bannable, see, he was polite and courteous

Typically, to your earlier point about racism, something's offensive if someone takes offense. I didn't.

But you don't know how Sharp views the Panthers and Miami Beach. Maybe that is why he isn't waiving to go there. What you view as Miami Beach he may view as Craptown, USA.

My source was apparently wrong for yesterday Sharp deal with Mtl.

Don't know if it is due to his NTC.

He actually said to me that Mtl has made a firm offer for Sharp and it was condtitionnal to something that should've went down yesterday.

Don't know if it is medical exams or another deal with a team that Sharp would or would not waive to go to.

My guess is Mtl's offer is not that good and SB tries to convince Sharp to waive for another team with better offer

And JJ.. can't thank you enough for all that you do here. Your insightful blogs and your careful posting of rumors, etc., make you a joy to read.

I've posted this before, but I appreciate your methods way more than Eks. I'm not a big fan of how he posts. I'd rather read a couple of good rumors with good thoughts, than 1,000 pieces of one line junk just to bring in clicks.

If the Afghanistan office holds some appeal to Sharpie he could also add New Jersey to the list of teams he would go to. Newark is similar to Kabul and its closer.

Hey JJ... just wanna clear up one thing. Our financial situation isn't an issue anymore. All of the teams debt has been paid in full (please don't believe Ken Campbell; he's a hack and a tool). In fact, the congresswoman who was calling for the county to end the lease with the team pulled her support of the bill. So, really, things here are financially as good as they've ever been. Well, maybe not EVER but it isn't horrible anymore now that we have owners who actually have money. Certainly the draft showed that the hockey spirit down here is alive and well.

What kind of condition could he have made if coming to Florida? That's odd. One thing you are right about, though, is if he isn't 100% committed to being here and playing/winning here, Doug Cifu and Mr. Viner won't let Dale pull the trigger. If Sharp doesn't want to come to Florida without a velvet rope around the deal then I say thanks but no thanks.

He wanted some assurances about his future there (or not) if the team wasn't competitive at a certain point in time.

Sharp and his family are the ones who have to live where he gets traded. He/his agent negotiated the right to have input when it's time to go. If Stan is ignoring his input and trying to shove an unwanted city down his throat then I don't blame Sharp. Personally being in florida for 1/2 the winter sounds good to me, especially if I had 3 cups already. And it's a nice destination for visitors from up north during the winter. But that's up to Sharp.

Like a trade in the last year of his contract if the Panthers still suck?

You can say whatever you want to say as long as it is not threatening. AGAIN, I understand completely that it is within Sharp's rights to veto any trade. He earned it. YES, acknowledged. It is my OPINION, that it is not the way he should be going about the situation. If the Hawks and Sharp were ending their relationship on bad terms, sure, use that NMC for the entire summer. This is not that type of situation. This is a Salary-Cap induced roster change that has been expected for months and now has been dragged out for weeks. Just get this thing done.
- EnzoD

Maybe there is some or a lot of resentment coming from Sharp? Maybe things aren't all sunshine and rainbows between both parties? Things that make you go hmmmm?

Well that's odd. I mean certainly we've built this team around some amazing prospects and were fighting for a playoff spot all season last year- until we lost Bjugstad and both goaltenders. He would definitely slot into our top and play with guys like Huberdeau, Bjugstad, and Pirri (remember him??). Not too mention the blue line stocked with prospects and currently you have Ekblad, Kulikov, and Gudbranson back there as our core 3 guys. But if that's really what he requested I could see why our owners shot it down.

Sorry guys! We'd love to help ya clear some cap, though! No to Versteeg.

I could be wrong on this but I think once a player waives the NMC/NTC in his contract, it no longer exists for the acquiring team.

Could it be that he wants to negotiate a similar clause with Florida that would assure him he doesn't get moved again and uprooted mid season or off season?
