Move Fla to sea

Expand in Quebec
and Vegas

There is the issue, Sharp is a family man and if he uproots his clan I'm sure he wants it to be permanent (or as close as that is possible as a player). Having to do it in 1 or 2 years again is alot of stress on them. Poor millionares

Are you sure you know where it is? They are in the town of Sunrise which is growing by leaps and bounds and 5 minutes from Weston which is a awesome town. Sawgrass Mills shopping center is one of the most popular in the country and its walking distance from the arena
- Maggie

It doesn't matter what size the town is, what it's close to or if they have great shopping. If people aren't interested in the sport of hockey, they ain't going! If a professional soccer pitch were built at the end of my street I'm not going to suddenly become a soccer fan and buy tickets.

I was simply seeking clarification. Love your interactions with posters here. Nothing personal about that post at all. Your posts have been civil today and really appreciate your contribution. Definitely top 6.

- tredbrta

I appreciate the clarification. Not sure what happened to my last post. I thought i hit submit, but I probably made a mistake and deleted it. Looking forward to our talks in the future. I thought you were gone for a second there.

Cap hit for the role he serves. The ridiculously stupid money spent by FLA on him just about a year ago doesn't get a whole lot smarter, especially given his penchant for injury.

I loved The Rat for the role he served on the 2010 and 2013 teams. Now? Not nearly as much. And a little of that is on SB for overall cap management here.

Concussion probs and a bionic back. Not a good combination for a hockey player IMO

Drop dead time frame on other offer (possibly NYI) may force everyone's hand
- John Jaeckel

Agreed and if talon is releasing info to a CBS source tells me he's pushing from his end as well. Very well could be a trade in next 24 hours to either place which then possibly frees up enough money to sign Oduya......and then he focuses on dumping other money to sign Kruger (assuming AAV isn't asinine) and start looking to get cap compliant.

Gotta assume the fact the agents for Kruger and Oduya are both on record to Chicago beat writers about patiently waiting, and Kruger not filing for arbitration also alludes to Sharp deal being very close to going down.

IF it does end up being Florida, what kind of pieces would be realistic to expect in a package back for Sharp?

I'm doubting the Hawks get a 1st round pick back and looking at their cap situation (assuming the Hawks don't want any cap back if possible), we're looking at some combination of the following I think (as much as I'd love Huberdeau or Gudbranson, even if the Hawks had to add, they don't have the cap space):

Michael Matheson
Vincent Trocheck
Alex Petrovic
2nd Round Pick

Obviously I'm not saying all of them for Sharp, but it wouldn't surprise me if these are the names being considered from the Florida side of any potential deal.

Florida is loaded with transplants from especially Canada, New York, and Chicago. With the new ownership, a great stadium, and a improving young team, "THEY WILL COME"

It's actually a brilliant analogy by JJ. Even most scientists cannot adequately explain how electricity actually functions to a light switch, or how instantaneous voice conversations are possible, or how the internet works in real time. The fact is that matter is NOT SOLID (even a granite counter top), it is 99.9999% EMPTY SPACE! We simply take for granted how most things actually work for the convenience of sanity and peace in our own minds. Ever think about what the heart must do every milli second, or what our brain processes (without us even being "aware" of it) in every moment? The subtleties of our muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones to pick up a foot or move a toe even just to take a step? Mind boggling, so we don't think about it and just do it!

Again a brilliant analogy by JJ!

I actually did my senior design project in college on auditory working memory and took several classes on speech, hearing, acoustics, psychoacoustics, etc. Really cool stuff. The human auditory system is incredible.

Yes was there for a game this year. Population wise the majority of people are not in the immediate area. That is why I said there must be further development plans, maybe into the glades dont know.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but it's quite easy to prove that steel is comprised of many electrons, some of which are "loose."

Just put a magnet next to it.

Check time stamp:

Just heard this.

Panthers want Sharp, in a BIG WAY, but that makes it hard for them to accept his condition. They want him long term as part of their marketing the team in South FL, "face of the franchise," trust me Panthers fans, that is a good role for him.

His condition is the problem. he wants an assurance if they're not competitive that he can go elsewhere. It is at a "standstill" over this.

There is another team, possibly the Islanders, that has given Bowman a drop dead date for their deal. Something could happen soon.

- John Jaeckel

I get where Sharp is going but if I'm management, I'm not agreeing to it. I wouldn't let a player dictate whether he stays or goes. I'll give a NMC, but no assurances on movement.

Garth has probably offered Frans and a prospect he drafted in the 7th round of 2010 that had his hand cut off for shop lifting in Kazakstan.... but the deal is off the table as of noon today because Garth loves his prospects.

Over on the Isles thread they think the one handed prospect has real potential. He can really pass for a one hander. Way too much to pay for a decrepit 70 point scorer who has been a leader on 3 Cup winners. Who needs him when all these kids are on the verge of being all stars?

There's a saying here in Canada, "Canadian transplants to Florida are not hockey fans" now that is obviously a generalization but if your assertion were true the Panther's wouldn't have attendance issues now, would they?

Just because something is within your "legal rights", that does not make it the "morally right" thing to do. Freedom of Speech allows outspoken racism, just like a NMC allows Sharp to veto a trade to Florida. I just dont think it's fair to the Blackhawks. Sharp, who obviously knows he is being traded, is making this situation worse with JJ's reported demands. Whether it is requesting an 'A' on his jersey or who knows what. Unless it is a truly dogpoop team like AZ, or a Division-Rival, I dont see how Sharp can want this saga to continue dragging on...and make the situation worse for the team that gave him his true NHL opportunity and made him a Star....

Lots of development all over that area, the problem is that is mostly developments limited to 55 and older so that doesn't bring the young people in. Weston is a different story as that area is similar to the North shore of Chicago

I would. I've got a young and upcoming team, on the cusp of reaching the playoffs. If I am committing to winning I've got nothing to worry about.

Wouldn't "transplants" still be loyal to the team they grew up supporting, or supported all their lives?

If that's the case, then as a "transplant" they are not invested in the local team. And if the local team is a consistent loser, why spend the dollars to go see them?

U don't get it, do u??? All of us want Sharp but it depends on the price bc the kids are more important than Sharp. There seems to be a disconnect of you understanding what or how the isle fans perceive Sharp.
Nelson is the only priority right now. Nobody is denying what Sharp is or what he can bring, but the isles are built with youth and wont destroy it for a 34yr player who's slowly declining (whether u admit it or not).........

Simple answer to that. Look at the Hawks, bad owner and bad team empty stadium. Good owners now and great team, full stadium. Same will happen to the Panthers

There that, if Sharp is looked to market the team, JJ's comments earlier make complete sense. How do you draw Miami fans? The East coast beach towns and even Naples? Strange location needs better transportatiion options. Rail?

Why are you being insulting?

You think Stan would take Grabner and Nielsen for $150k in cap savings?

I thought you considered the Leddy trade a solid deal. Are you saying Garth screwed the Stanley Cup Champions and will do it again?
