Why didn't they just trade Nilsson for Coughlin and LaBarbara?

When Houston moved to Iowa, I read something that the owner of the Toyota Center would only be willing to use the building for hockey if it involved an NHL team.

Is that true, or does the building ownership just not want hockey in the building in general?

If I recall correctly he said something along the lines of ' I can make more money with a concert over the weekend then a year of an AHL team. There are enough transplants here that could support a team, I just don't think the Toyota center is the place for it. They had crazy good fans here and the players were good to them as well. They gave away to many tickets for regular season games , but playoffs weere sold out minus the nose bleeds. I thought they were a top attendance team in southern U.S. Or maybe even better, but they also played in a big arena.

My guess the owner said he's in for a nhl team knowing there were several cities ahead of Houston. Being a football city I think he felt safe.

There is big money here so maybe they get a group to put it together but I would not hold my breath on that

It's pretty sad.

Houston has a solid hockey bar called the Maple Leaf, if anyone visits it's a must. Amazing night in and out- then the playoffs go to another level of fun.

I think Bowman has been "stopped out", maybe in a couple of places on Sharp and Bickell....Just a matter of reconciling the little return or adding to the deal to get a better return is my guess. Florida makes sense as a spot and there are some others.

I am fairly positive the Flyers signed him (Jason LaBarbera) as their 3rd goalie a couple days ago.

I think Bowman has been "stopped out", maybe in a couple of places on Sharp and Bickell....Just a matter of reconciling the little return or adding to the deal to get a better return is my guess. Florida makes sense as a spot and there are some others.

IMO if bickell can be moved for 4 mil cap space, that brings back JO. Done deal if stan can do it

He mailed it in the last week of that season - when the Hogs were still trying to get into the playoffs.

Otherwise, there is this coming season's goalie depth for the Hawks. To experienced vets. Not a bad thing to have.
