I don't see the fit. If we didn't want Saad.. why would we want Boedker?

I don't think there is a player in the history of the Sabres I hate more than Holzinger.

Especially the way RJ used to say his name. HOLE ZINGER.

Honestly, its why I don't want us to sign Oduya. I won't be able to listen to RJ say OH DOO YAH 41 times this season. I just can't do it.

I don't know, I still hold a grudge against Doug Gilmour and comments he made during his brief stint here.

Oprah can let us know how well they do today.

That looks like the most exciting line of the day across the board. Reinhart gets shafted with average scoring talent. Although they'll make a poopload of room for him.

- TheSabresTaco

Bailey might have been a better winger for him.

I can't believe people are still female doging about him.
- DynamicThreads

I don't think people are female doging about losing one prospect in particular. I'm a little disappointed in losing Zadorov, but I can live with it under the principle that you have to give to get. However, what is a little concerning is the sheer number of prospects that Tim Murray has unloaded, and they're all decently high picks.

Armia, Compher, Grigorenko, Lemieux, and Zadorov were all drafted in the first two rounds. That doesn't even take into consideration the two first rounders, number 31, and Tyler Myers that was traded away. That's a lot of personnel that was given up. Now, there is a good chance these trades could pan out, but the reality is, Tim Murray has a lot of work to do to restock what was once a full prospect cupboard. I was hoping Murray would trade a few prospects and picks to try to improve the team. What I didn't expect was for him to trade almost all of them.

You must have missed Ville Leino and Derek Roy and the last year of Jochen Hecht and Dmitri Kalinin and Vaclav Varada,

I said we should trade for him around the trade deadline. People were ready to come at me with pitchforks if I remember correctly.

Would have been a lot more fun to watch, that's for sure. But Bailey's line is all about Bailey. Gotta spread the wealth I guess.

He'll probably like playing with his Soo team mate too.

You know, I just can't hate on Gilmour. I should. Not just his asinine comments, but also that knee to Varada was especially douchey after he left. But the dude was gnarly AF and a great player.

Gilmour's comments never bothered me. As we all found out a couple of years later, they turned out to be right.

So he slots in as the 2nd line LWer if he is better than Moulson, I'll pass I would rather Eichel play with a vet like Moulson who has been known to produce with a true center like Eichel is

I don't get why people are even making a big deal out of moving prospects. No prospect is a proven NHL'er and most of them flame out. How many years did we have to put up with being told how great Brian Holzinger was and how much potential he had? Good god he was awful.
- DynamicThreads

I would never say anyone is completely wrong for being slightly worried about the amount of first round talent we shipped out.

I just believe our situation was unique, a scouting guru with a pretty solid drafting record came in with a massive surplus of talent that he didnt even draft.

Two drafts later he has some of his picks in line and im sure he is confident about them. I believe he isnt worried at all about what he sent out, and probably wouldnt hesitate to send more out.

I direct all Leino hate at Darcy for signing him in the first place. Derek Roy I always liked, despite his constant diving. Hecht might have played one year too long but most players play well past their expiration date and Jochen still scored some backhanded obscure-angle "did he really just score from there?" goals that last season so I forgive him. Kalinin, meh, he was Ukranian Mike Weber. BUT HOW DARE YOU BADMOUTH VACLAV VARADA

I still have a bunch of pitchforks in the shed if you cause a ruckus again.

Hopefully Reino shows that he needs more improvement in the AHL.

Personally, I think that is exactly what he needs.

I do that kind of poop in NHL all the time. I lose phones like crazy (I'm surprised I even have a phone to use in the game, my GM rep is constantly around -50) but it always pans out in the end.

All joking aside, I really think GMTM did the right thing. He blew the roster to smithereens for the past 2 years to ice a team he wanted this fall. The cupboard restocking starts at next year's draft. There's time to re-up on prospects, there is a literal never ending supply of them and it's not like our prospect pool is barren.

Head to head in the World Juniors, Reinhart looked better than Eichel did. It's not incredibly surprising, seeing as how Reinhart is a year older, and his supporting cast was a bit better. It's not unfathomable to think Reinhart may need a bit of time in the minors, but the notion that Eichel is definitely ready whereas Reinhart is not, is a bit premature.

That being said, I don't expect either player to light the world on fire next year.

Where does he fit in the Depth chart as of today? 2RW? 3C? I don't like either of those.
