depth in the playoffs for a 3rd round pick or something like that. Depth is key when injuries start to pile up.

Raymond is available...
We'll take a couple of Blue Jays tickets and an Argo's jersey if you'll take him back (goes to Canucks fans too) but we'll want MLS tix and a Lion's jersey...

They have gotten the top prospect how many times.... yet still occupy the basement..... They Tank with out trying to tank.... Even with McJesus I am still in wait and see mode before I believe they will actually be a playoff team. And with how badly managed that team has been for soooo long. I couldn't stand that as a fan, Kudos to the fans there for still believing after being so bad for that long. I am quite happy Vans Management doesn't want to become the laughing stock of the league for 10+ yrs

yea, Vancouver doesn't have to worry about becoming that.

Should be much better then Edmonton.... since we don't have K lowe for one
And we actually have some decent veteran players to teach the youth. How long it takes I guess depends on drafting and the returns we get from the veteran players. JB really has to learn to sell UFA's at the TDL.... that was a major mistake on his part.

not sure they are going to get that much at $2.3M cap hit unless they retain half... he is still a bottom six player and $2.3M might be a bit too much for teams come deadline day.
- richardson30

He's likely going to be top 6 with Leafs and get PP time though, which will inflate his stats. Career highs are more likely than not.

Not if Pegulaville has anything to say about it.

I'm hoping New Jersey can get in the top three picks this year. A number one pick would be unreal and a first for us !

This is actually a very good pick up for the leafs. He is a total Mike Babcock tape player, big, works hard and Canadian. Expect him to be forced on the top line just like Babs did to Abby.

Is Eklund and his buds smoking crack or something. The Isles are definitely better than Detroit, Pittsburg, and Columbus. Both Pitt and CBJ have no defense whatsoever and Detroit has some extreme problems in goal

A TAPE PLAYER !!

I think that one is American though, not Canadian. But it's big and works hard.

Not a big deal. Matthias will fill a roster spot for a season, maybe two if he plays well. Potting 20 goals is a bit of a long shot. He put up 18 last year, but only 27 points. I expect him to put up around 30 points, with 10-15 goals. All in all, this signing has no impact on the future of the franchise. Management simply needs a somewhat skilled forward to keep the team competitive while they rebuild.

I don't even know if he will put up those numbers.

I don't see a lot of great draft picks coming at the deadline for any of the Leafs signings.

They are basically warm, bodies while we actually try to develop prospects properly.

I think more than anything, this is were Edmonton went wrong. Can't be easy to get said veterans when it's so difficult to sign free agents though.

Possibly, but not definitely.
Pittsburgh has little defense, yeah, but their offense is extremely scary. The isles can't keep up with that kind of goal scoring.
CBJ doesn't need too much defense when their goalie is that good. Still, it's been hard to gauge because they haven't stayed healthy.
Detroit you are most likely better than. With that said, Mrazek and Howard aren't pushovers. They still have solid offense and defense.
Remember, you're an islanders fan. It's not quite time to get so confident yet.

Love what the Leafs are doing.......trade deadline is going to be exciting seeing all the prospects and draft pics come our way after Babcock gets these guys buffed so their value is high. Even if we are in a playoff run at the deadline we need to trade whomever can bring back good assets!
