I guess it all comes down to what we expect from him.
- MBFlyerfan

I think he's gonna be a solid 2 way forward, I'm just hoping he develops a better playmaking game and makes quicker decisions with he puck. I don't have an issue with his game away from the puck.

Ain't that the truth. At least a trade rumor stirs it up a little. Or even better imagine the departure of Vinny. This board will be on overload! Still think Hextall pulls off a deal.. Well hoping

I'm optimistic about all of our prospects. The only prospect I'm a little down on is Scott Laughton. Simon Gagne and Justin Williams were naturals the moment they entered the league. Mike Richards and Jeff Carter had growing pains but they belonged here. Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier in 4 seasons have yet to have that break out seasons we're still waiting for but they've always produced. Scott Laughton still has plenty of time but past players we've developed came into the line up and grabbed on to a roster spot. The only thing that held Steve Downie back was his recklessness. Downie was an NHL player right away.

Laughton suffered a concussion that affected his play.

So is Del Zotto going to arb or do you think the Flyers move him? I wonder if a deal with Ottawa would make sense. Something like Del Zotto for Mike Hoffman. RFA for RFA type deal. Also Hoffman is a LW

Funny you suggest that.. I was thinking something similar to that, except for another d-man..

What about a Del Zotto for Adam Larsson swap?

Why would New Jersey do that? Larrsson is younger, cheaper and still has a higher upside that Del Zotto.

They could still sign him ahead of arbitration. So far, filing for arbitration is just routine. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I think Ottawa would want to keep Hoffman. He was a key piece this past season.

Report was they are pretty far apart. I just have a feeling that Del Zotto might be moving on the longer this goes. I know it is procedural but something just tells me that he might be moving on.

I know a lot of people here don't like Big Buff, but that is a guy I would target.
- 3flyerkids

I wouldn't mind seeing him in Philly (provided the deal was fair, of course). The guy brings a lot and can be moved to forward if needed.

Why not just say what we all know? Go ahead, say it. Say the words: "i have no (frank)ing clue what im talking about, and I just pulled it from my ass"

Dude, to be fair, that statement could be applied to just about anyone here.

exactly.....btw, im not arguing. im simply expressing my distain for definitive declarations based on nothing. he may be a bust, he may not be. nobody knows at this point because he hasnt played enough to make that judgement.
- KINGKENZO

It's easy to say a 3rd rounder will be a bust as only 1 in 5 ends up having a meaningful NHL career.

So say [insert random 3rd rounder here] is going to be a bust and say it with authority. You'll probably be right, thus look like a scouting genius and win the interwebs!

Bonus - the street cred gained from being right allows you more elbow room to make claims about other players.

Details at this point are few, but this could potentially have a huge impact on him and the Giants, as he hasn’t signed his franchise tender worth $14.8 million,

Holy smokes!

I think we're all getting a little ahead of ourselves with talk of trading MDZ.

What's going on here is all part of negotiations. I'd be surprised if something didn't get worked out.
