Then refer to the second part, you think once when the islander move, the jackets will still be ahead of them? Are you really bragging about being ahead of a team that is going to relocate next year, Phoenix. A team that is moving this year, the islanders. And a team that will move within the next 5 years, Florida?

Thanks for pointing out which team should move to Quebec, Columbus.

Phoenix to Las Vegas(seems unavoidable)
Florida to Seattle
Columbus to Quebec

Didn't know all 3 teams were kicked out of their arena lease? To public knowledge only one has had that happen to them.

Odd. Must have not seen such ground breaking news on twitter.

A Columbus fan, a Devils fan and a Toronto fan stroll into a Sabres thread.

One says my butt hurts more than anyone's.

Which one's butt hurts the most?

Hint: It's still the Toronto fan's.

If the Leafs got ROR and gave him this contract, not a damn thing would be said about it.

Jesus, I'll say it for u in caveman. Ok?
No cry bout Sabres. Sabres good. ROR good. ROR pay less escrow than all players including Sydney the Kid bad.
No cry bout Sabres.
Only escrow circumvention.
Loved Gil Perreault as kid, was favorite player as kid.
No Sabre hate.

Well, strange you said I broke the news on Twitter when I posted a message on this site saying looks like we know the 3 teams that SHOULD move.

Go to your little jacket buddies. Take care.

Trade M Foligno to Philly, for Luke Shenn.

Philly is overloaded on the back end, and could benifit from flipping for forward depth. Obviously, Flyers fans will love his style.

On the flip side, a beefy young blueline (like the 230lbs, LH shooting) Schenn, would compliment this young core perfectly! A decent replacement for Zadorov he'd be.

As a Devil fan and after the Kovy mess from the contract to him leaving, I say good for Buffalo. They have certainly paid their does. And if they want to pay a mediocre to good player that money, its their choice. We all would take that contract/money in a heartbeat.

It most definitely will set a precedence for future deals and cause another lockout for sure. Because all players will demand this and the owners are gonna fight back. Buffalo got it in before any laws prohibit it.

And who cares about ROR, he's a money chaser and has been from day 1 in Colorado. Im excited to see Eichel. Thats what we should be talking about, not a slightly better Clarkson.

I can see myself buying that classic Sabres jersey with Eichel on the back.

2015-2016 will be a great year in hockey.

Leagues doesn't cash in 86% of ROR's contract. Tell me what is the percentage of Shea Weber's contract. You can do the math.
- blacksheep1

Its hilarious that youre complaining about the league not cashing in on 45.5M of ROR contract when they dont cash in on 68M of Weber contract. Regardless of whats leftover that does go to escrow, thats 1.5x MORE than the ROR contract they lose due to Webers structure.

You can thank the Weber and Clarkson contract structures for ROR receiving the contract he received. Plain and simple.

I hope "mediocre to good player" didn't really confuse you... Have you looked at his stats? I just figured a contract like his would be for someone that actually got maybe 28 goals or 60 pts? Seriously, is that all it takes to score big? Believe me, I don't hate the kid. I wish him and Buffalo good luck, I guess Im just jealous that I'm making a dust size salary in comparison.

Based on your assumption about stats, Toews is on of the most grossly overpaid players in the league.

Yea okay.. paying ROR 7.5M for 7 years would be the main and only reason for the next lockout. Got it.

Not when Stamkos gets 12M.. or Kane and Toews making 10.5M. Or Weber and Kopitar making 10M.. or. Chara, Giroux, Malkin, Crosby, Getzlaf, and Perry making 8+M... it was ALL ROR and Buffalo's fault.

- JVince11

Ror isn't close to the level of everyone you listed above. Maybe we should wait for stamkos to sign before we assume he's getting 12 mil.

I must have missed the part where I said he was?? Reading failure I'd assume.

I simply said you can't outlie RORS contract as "too high" or "ridiculous" when all of those guys are making 1.5x or close to double his contract

Toews makes $6.5 a year.
Toews Point Per Game average is .89
Toews has 3 cups.
Toews has 2 gold medals.
Toews in Yzerman 2.0 (my opinion)

ROR will make $7.5 a year
ROR Point Per Game average is .57
.....
.....
.....
ROR wants as much $$ and will anywhere to get it.

So, ya, I think its pretty unfair to compare the two. But if it makes you feel smart, go for it.

Doesn't Toews make $10.5 starting next year? Not sure $7.5 is the same as $10.5 but whatever. If Toews isn't on the Hawks, do you think he has 3 cups? I don't.
