NHLPA would have the problem.
I like the cap, no offense, it showed which GM's could really manage, and then there was Paul Holmgren.

- puckhead17

I like the cap as well, nothing wrong with it. BUT when you have a guy like Mark Giordano asking for NINE MILLION DOLLARS A SEASON (Flames blogger just posted about it), there is a problem. I don't care what the reasons are or what the times are... the guy isn't worth $9 million a season. It's ludicrous.

good job

last sunday I holed out from the trap, about 40 yards from the cup

worst part is I didn't see it, deep bunker and could only see the flag

- homiedclown

This was my 2nd time out this year. The difference from the first time was incredible.

If I could ever fix my slice on my drive I'd be back to where I was 7 years ago when I golfed regularly

Bettman even stated that the reason it was voided was that it went against the spirit of the cba, the cba at that time, as it was structured like others but they wanted to take a stand, read the quotes after the hearing and all, you will keep seeing "spirit"

I didn't like the contract in the first place but if you go through it there was nothing wrong with it when you looked at that cba and used other contracts like his as comparables

Ror contract may not have anything wrong with it other than it's going to annoy others and players and the spirit of the cba has been removed due to the kovy contract revision of the cba

- dmarsden2988

Correct
The only separation, once again, is on the organizations dishonesty.
Surely your not suggesting.the Sabres came up with this escrow avoiding contract?
The NHL will not tangle with the NHLPA over this one contract, the revenue loss risk is much greater then the escrow loss. They'll close the loophole together.[/img]

Can't see him getting that, Suban won a Norris, that sealed him in, after signing the "show us again", bridge contract.
Sorry, (Sabre boards), but ROR got $7.5m for one 60 point season, just being real.
These are the times. I just hope Stepan sticks it to the Rangers, because they think he's a $5m guy.
Well not after this week he isn't.

If the NHL brought in revenue like the NFL or NBA he would. And that's on the league offices.[/img]

If our salary structure was like the NFL, we would never see another NHL game again.

Oh, okay, that makes a huge difference...

$68M dollars the league is losing on escrow to Shea Weber signing bonus. Thats more than most of the leagues players contracts. Thats $22.5M MORE than what the league is losing to ROR contract.

"We're losing out on escrow of $68M, but don't worry, we get some of that back..." what a terrible argument.

- theblueandgold

Leagues doesn't cash in 86% of ROR's contract. Tell me what is the percentage of Shea Weber's contract. You can do the math.

So problem is they didn't take a vote on this, or Weber's contract?
Not the bogus voting Fehr used to mention, a real player closed ballot vote

A team that ranked 21st in revenue and has an operating income of 4.4 million has to pay a player 45.5 million dollars of a total contract that is value at 52.5 million.

Thanks for causing the next lockout.

Wait wait wait... a Columbus fan is going to make fun of another teams income??

If we lose another season over this issue, who does it affect more?
Columbus, or Buffalo?

I would say that hurts, but the Sabres ran out a Calder winner in Tyler Myers for Zach "I can't stay healthy" Bogosian. Not a real win in hat deal.

Why don't you stop running your mouth already, if any other team in the league did this nobody would say a damn thing. Go run your mouth on the Bruins blog.
