Yep. Simmonds is too good of a contract to give up. Where else do you replace 25+ goals for under $4 million. Plus all the other great stuff he does and he's only 26.

Same here, I like Shattenkirk, but I'm not going to pay that kind of package for him. He's pretty good, but is not on that level where I would make that deal. No way would I give up a top winger, top prospect, and a first round pick for Shattenkirk. That's a bad deal in my opinion. As much as I would like to have Shattenkirk. He's a good offensive #2 defenseman, and not a true #1 in my opinion.

I kid you not I have this exact same photo on my iPhone that I took. I went to that game and was behind the Isles bench and those two were chatting and laughing for a good 5-10 minutes before and after game

I consider all options....but we have really 1 power forward who plays the role very well. In looking at any move it's important to ask how much better does it make the team. It may help to an extent but now you'd open up a big hole in a top 6 role with no ready replacement.

That's the thing. I don't think Simmonds alone gets that deal done. With Simmonds you're probably still talking a 1st and maybe as much as Laughton.
