I think short term he is done. Probably wait it out until another name becomes available or the price for a player he's called about goes down.

He's a good two way player. 1.94 5 on 5 pts per 60, better than Kopitar, Ovechkin, and H. Sedin. Great at taking the puck away from the opposing team. Also a great possession player. Oh, and he hates to lose. I'll take my chances with this deal, I think it will pay off. Reminds me of Chris Drury.

And Saad just got $6 million a year...don't like it but that's the market rate these days.

7.5 mil a year, fine by me. Finally we have a #1 center and someone that will be a great leader for Eichel. I guess his point production wasnt huge last year (though he was centering Iginla and Tanguay much of the year) but his defensive awareness is great. And two years ago he put up 28 goals and 36 assists. With O'Reilly coming into his prime no reason to think he wont be a stud with a line of Kane-ROR-Ennis. Also he is 53% on the faceoff, something the Sabres need a lot of help with as well. Did I mention he also had the best turnover +/- in the league last year at a plus 72, 17 points ahead of 2nd place Mark Stone?

ROR will be a good staple in the Sabres organization for years to come. 7.5 per is obviously a hefty contract but all things considered he'll probably play like a 6.5m player so 1m dollars worth of underachieving isn't the end of the world as all nhl teams have these players. I'm just happy all the ROR drama is over and we got a solid return for him. It's a bonus that I live in buffalo and get to watch him grow! All in all, I like where my avs and sabres are heading and an avalanche / sabres SCF isn't a pipe dream anymore. Happy 4th everyone!

I made him. He is like an 82 as a rookie I think. I put him between Moulson and Girgensons on 2nd line. Girgensons is a BEAST at RW

It's funny how on Michaels blog and Garth's blog all the TROLLS have a problem with ROR deal but no problem with Saad getting 6 mill a year. Typical TROLLS running there mouths about the Sabres once again. Some are very bitter.

My brother is an Avs fan so we have dreamed about it awhile too. Going to the Winter Classic out in Denver this year too
