They can't go into next season with that D, Lehner will get killed. I have to think, either fairly soon or in September Murray does something. Trade for Jack Johnson or Del Zotto and sign a FA, either Oduya or Irwin. I'd be ok with Zidlicky as well on a 1 year deal.

Thought I heard Murray was planning on using Risto in place of a LHD.

I agree. If we can make a trade for a guy and sign a guy even if it's Irwin or another vet and then trade for a top 4 guy I'd be relieved. That D isn't even good enough to play for a guy like Price let along an unproven Lehner

Yeah.. I'd hope so. But it's probably a 1/15 chance it's us who made the offer.. And to me it seems like Oduya is looking for anything to cling onto to stay in Chicago. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yeah, my interest has moved away from Oduya. Irwin, Zidlicky, Gonchar, Franson would all be possibles on a 1-2 year deal.

I heard Bylsma say that he doesn't really mind putting a d-man on his off side. Then he mentioned that its more important in Europe because they play on a larger ice surface. I would think Risto would be the last person you would want to force to play on his opposite side. Meaning, he's used to playing on the correct side. But what the hell do i know?

I'm a hockey traditionalist and I'm not crazy about the idea of a RD playing the left side, especially on 5X5. The PP, no issue with that.
