Is it possible that we're the team that everyone was fearing tomorrow? There seems to be a lot of offer sheet smoke.
- Slump Buster

Considering the sac Murray has been showing lately, I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm concerned about future cap, but I also think winning sooner, deal with cap later isn't a bad vision.

Saad trade was horrible

I think Chi did alright considering the threat of an offer sheet.

Any word on who we're going after tomorrow?

Would be great if all these teams are sweating over GMTM throwing out the offer sheets

The Hawks knew they couldn't keep all their star players, so they made a good trade to keep depth. This is why the Hawks are a well run team with multiple cups
- sbroads24

That is correct, they identify a "core" and move excellent players for good returns.

I can't believe Columbus gave up Dano (22 yrs Old) he will flourish in Chicago!

Still interest in Yandle, don't know what the Rangers will do. If Oduya really wants 6 mill a year it won't be him.

Left Handed D-Man, somebody TMGM has identified and we might not see as flashy but I have a feeling Murray was moving Zadorov and has a plan for his replacement in mind.

What does your source think about Boston's moves?

I would think they would have been able to trade Lucic for a smaller return and no retention of $ which would've cleared the way for Hamilton who just signed.

Thought Martin might be high up their list because of Bylsma.

Don't doubt gmtm has a plan (think Beauchemen) but zad wasnt moved to be able to sign an UFA. He was moved to get O'Reilly. Two separate things

Not happening - gmtm does not draft or sign Russians - just traded our two Russians to COL
- turbo044

You don't think Murray would take Taresnko for nothing , a true Righ Wing super star?

I think Murray likes certain type of players, but to compare ALL Russians to the two we had which had some clear issues is a bit of an overstatement.

I wasn't suggesting that Zadorov was traded to free up a space for a FA D-Man??? Thats just stupid as he is cheap and has high upside with some questions, I think he'll be good.

My point was that I believe Murray has known for some time now that he would be trading Big-Z and he has a plan and forsight to identify his replacement. That player may be a UFA, or he might trade for him. I'm just saying he has a list of guys he prefers already, and has for awhile.

Nice post. Its truly amazing what we have witnessed in such a short period of time. I know we HBuzz Posters are a special breed and we might differ on opinions of certain players or coaching/management but we have been fully engaged thoughout this process and we will enjoy this rise the most as others jump on the wagon, and I welcome most but I loved 05/06 more than I did 06/07 When Everybody and their Sister's friend wore the slug!

I've stated this before and I'll state it again, the most pivotal change for the Buffalo Sabres, which has changed Everything about them, how we draft, how we spend, and soon how we are perceived by the league, are Terry and Kim Pegula!

Yes, they let the old guard have one last shot but I can't say I blame them for that, the team was solid and with a little luck and some spending we had a chance to make a run. Darcy with an open pocket book was 50/50 with a total bust on Ville Leino but a great deal on Christian Erhoff. I was actually excited about Leino, (He was a beast for the Flyers during their Stanley Cup Run, he did everything he didn't do while he was here.)

Not us, we both need D and are strong up the middle. Draisaitl or Yak in the package somewhere, Montreal? Tampa?

The opposite of that would be the oilers are working on a minor deal for 1 player with a western team.

Good Point, and he is a very intelligent D-Man who I think could make the switch.

You might have something here 365, I just don't want it to be over 4 mill 3yrs

That wasn't what we were discussing. The poster suggested that Murray wouldn't want ANY Russians on our team since he just unloaded our only two.

I was just pointing out that, Hypothetically, if he was for Free, I know Murray would slot him on the Right side of Eichel and we would be off to the Races, Russian or Australian!

From what i remember he plays on the left side, short term he'd be a decent option until a long term solution becomes available.

Murray should be talking to Minnesota. They are full of young defenseman and just for mike oreilly. Heard they were looking for a center and trying to unload cap space.
