According to Madden's high level "Pens source", Saad could become a Pen but not by an offer sheet. Apparently, Blackhawks love Pouliot. Hawks may sign Saad to a 4.5 mil contract and then trade him to Pens for Pouliout and maybe a little more.

I've been steadfast against signing Semin. However, it's Risk/Reward. Sign him cheap on a 1 year deal and see what happens. I'd rather that than signing guys for 5 x 5 and praying they're worth it. It's a weak UFA class.

I usually hate THN's stuff... but this one has a pretty graph that broke down player's WAR value for UFA vs what the expected market value for them should be. Its not the law, but a solid baseline for what we should consider on contracts I think.

Nope, hes a top 6 winger.... which is typically not as valuable as a top pairing defenseman.

But hey, keep trolling on... everyone knows that is all you do here.

So as bad as the Hamilton trade was, BOS ends up getting 3 1sts and 3 2nds in the deepest draft in recent memory and already has 2 1sts next year. At some point they should at least end up with a really deep prospect pool.
