Okay, I do not believe this rumor and neither does Madden, but I want to see your guys thoughts.

According to Madden's high level "Pens source", Saad could become a Pen but not by an offer sheet. Apparently, Blackhawks love Pouliot. Hawks may sign Saad to a 4.5 mil contract and then trade him to Pens for Pouliout and maybe a little more.

Again rumor, but would you do it?

If you don't you should be fired as gm. Dp is too far away to help in the near term.

I would do that, I think we all would... but thats absurd.

Saad at that price would get back Pouliot, a 1st, and Kap/Bennett (throwing out Bennett only because Chicago listed him as something they'd want for Sharp's package).

So... you'd rather a GM who makes decisions to cover his eyes and not see what happens?
- Guile

You put together a plan, set goals, strategy how to get there and execute. If u just wing it and see what happens how are you held accountable? Yeah we'll try semin for 2 years...oh that sucks let's try kessel....oh crap Mallon is 33 now!

Making decisions just to see what happens is a pretty horrible way to manage.
- sammy87

so you want a GM that can predict the future in an absolute way?

let me know how that goes.

Why the hell would CHI sign him at all? They would just trade his rights and let PIT negotiate with him.

I agree but have to think of this too maybe. They can't get rid of Sharp so maybe they see that they have to trade Saad for cap reasons. I agree, this is crazy but crazy has been going on last few days.

Dupuis doesn't need to be LTIRed for things to work. I've made several good teams al of which had Dupuis alive and well on the third line.

I'll bet on most of them you bought out Scuderi though. Wish management would.

Ok, that can be answered A LOT more easily...

Chicago signs him, and they have a deal in place... they get prospects/players they want, instead of pure draft picks.

Less risk on their end for the return.

You're right. I forgot about that. I either bought him out or traded him and a 6th for Talbot.

I'd say this would be the kind of deal everyone wins. Funny how Pouliot's WHL team jersey is the same as the Blackhawks. Both players will be very good and I might say Pouliot has a higher ceilling.

When has a team every negotiated with a player and then traded him immediately after? It costs money for the organization to bring in their management team to do the contracts, they aren't going to do it for another team. Not to mention, it makes no sense why Saad and his new team wouldn't want to be doing the negotiations instead of through an intermediary team.
