Which leaves the team in an infinitely better position to contend in the future than it would if they traded for Skinner/Kessel/Sharp. Like I said, I'm fine with low risk moves. I do hope you realize that some of you guys are going to have zero credibility if Semin comes in and contributes. - jfkst1
I am in favor of none of those options. If semin comes here and plays well I will stand corrected, just not betting on it.

Does anyone have or know of a link to TSN's FA coverage tomorrow for the states? |

And Dupuis and Kunitz were obviously battling their own health issues. If healthy, there's no reason to believe Dupuis can't score 20 again, or Kunitz can't score 30.
At least they'll try. - hardnosed
Wait, so their health issues count? I thought injuries were only excuses. |

Not for 4 million but think a 1 year 2.5 would help Semin regain value and Pens get a top 6. Still need work on forwards but OK with this rather than lose top prospects. |

That's a reasonable stance. I'm sure I'll be wrong about some things to, maybe this, but I feel good about Semin bouncing back. |

I'm not betting on it either. But I'm not ruling it out. I wasn't betting on Jokinen coming in and being a solid winger. With Semin, Parenteau, and Boyes available as UFAs, I see no reason why the Pens need to explore any more trades involving young/future assets. If they aren't able to get a trade with Suckturd/Kunitz as the primary pieces, then move on. Flip at least Spaling and Suckturd for 2016 picks. |

Semin for 2 years @ $3.5M sounds about right. No way he can't produce playing with Geno. No way. |

you just still need to unload kuni spaling scuds and have dupes ltir to have a good team.. |

There's a possibility that teams shy away from long term deals with him. |

Lets be honest, Malkin played with Neal who was just as big of a pansy and liability as Semin is. The difference is that Semin is Russian and Neal is Canadian.
Is Semin the perfect winger? Of course not.
But if I had to pick between signing an imperfect guy like Semin versus trading significant assets to get a guy like Skinner or Kessel who both have a lot of baggage themselves, I'll take Semin.
Sign him to a 1 year deal, 2 at the max and see what happens. Hopefully he can pick it up and get it together. Go into UFA and find a guy who is a bit more responsible and smart like Jokinen was with Malkin and Neal. Maybe Plotinov is that guy, I dont know much about him. |

Dupuis doesn't need to be LTIRed for things to work. I've made several good teams al of which had Dupuis alive and well on the third line. |

Do I get to bring up how I wish we would have kept Jokinen instead of Ehrhoff for Malkin again now? >_> |

you can, but I wouldnt like him at the price Florida signed him at. You can find guys like Jokinen, i wouldnt say easily, but you can reasonably find them. |

So Malkin, Tikhonov, Plotnikov, and Semin? For the sake of Madden's radio show, please let this happen

You can... we was another of the Dupuis type... but if my memory serves correctly, he wasn't even given an offer. Wish we would have thrown 2-3 years at 3.33 mil or so at him and see if he'd stay to be on that wing longer. He'd have been 34 at the end of the 3 year deal, and I don't think 3.33 is a bad offer at the time. |

Imagine if Semin had a bounce back and we made a trade for Oshie. Malkin with Oshie's hands a 30 goal, 70 point scoring Semin would be a dynamo scoring line. It'd basically be the same dynamic as the Jokinen-Malkin-Neal line except the Jokinen player got leagues better and the Neal player got slightly worse. Amazing trade off.
