I honestly don't remember where I read it but it was back when people were saying that Geno wanted a Russian so we automatically started to get tied to Semin, but then it turned out Geno didn't like him. I don't know I think all of those reports were overblown.

Trade sutter and harrington for oshie. Signed Semin and other Russians. Kept Scuds bc i sadly see them keeping him. Trade Kunitz for cap relief. Top 9 i think is really good, D is alil weak but can make a move at deadline to sure it up. Obviously can still trade spaling for more cap relief.

I figured that one was coming. He's listed as a center but doesn't look like he has played there very often recently. Wish he were able to make the transition because I could see him being very useful at that.

I really liked his game. For $1M at most he's the perfect 6th-7th D-man for this roster. At 27 yo he's at his peek which is pretty good to have as an insurance.

If they unladed Kuni, Scuds, Sutter and upgraded, then acquiring Semin for 3 or under might makes sense for a yr. But a cash strapped team will offer him much more for longer term. No reason for Semin to take a yr deal here.

The roster with the return for 71 will be better than the current roster with $5mil thrown at Tlusty/Semin/Frolik cuz thats what you're looking at. The future will be better than what it would cost to acquire Kessel as well.

I kept scuds bc deedline to buyout is today and no signs of that happening. I do not think he will be traded, so he sadly will be on roster, hence reason I kept him.

I'm all for Chorney again. Clearly a late-bloomer. Similar to Lovejoy. If we don't re-sign him, I fear we'll be trading for him in the future with Harrington - hardy har har...
