Remember how Hawks fans were talking about players taking discounts to play for a winner? This should shut them up. - jfkst1
Getting a taste of what it's like to have a huge chunk of money tied up in a few players.
Cbus is going to be tough. |

A couple of Chicago blog writers are saying they heard the Hawks will probably trade Anisimov ($3.5M) to lighten the cap. - errey12
Why would they do that? Jaeckel said they are working on an extension for him. |

NHL network has been saying they are close to an extension. See him as their 2C. |

Dano had 21 pts in 35 games after being called up by CBJ last year and still has 2 season @925K.... He'll be Saad 2.0.. They'll get two seasons of top 6 production out of him at a bargain basement price. If he takes Saad 's spot with Toews and Hossa I bet he puts up 60pts. - Willaged
Exactly. Bowman doesn't get attached to players. Kinda like the NE Patriots. Play them while they are cost-effective and dump them when they aren't anymore. |

Anisimov for Spaling + prospect then? I'd do it. - Barnaby36
might as well trade crosby for ovie, maf for bobvarsky, bring back gonchar and trade kuni and dupes for datsz |

This is directly from Jaeckel's blog:
I don’t think Anisimov will be a Hawk for long—flipped yet this summer, perhaps even bought out, dealt at the trade deadline. Something like that. He makes in excess of $3.5 million this season and is UFA next summer. Maybe he sticks around 'til then and serves the heretofore unfulfilled role of “language buddy” for rookie Artemi Panarin. |

Rumor out there that Bowman heard the Pens were going to offer sheet Saad, and refused to trade him to them. |

I would take that in a heart beat! Haha 2 cap dumps, a bust, a one piece of value for a 40 goal scorer. For that deal you take it and run and worry about the cap crunch later!! |

Jaeckel was more spitballing there then giving info. Apparently Bowman has said differently. Think the plan is similar for Chicago moving forward, just add Anisimov has the mid salary guy they'd hoped Saad will be and Dano, Morin, and Tropp give them more options to fill out their forward ranks. |

I don't believe it. We were limited to what we could pay. I thought the rumor was the Avs going the offersheet route. |

Lol, that's why I would. (That proposal would never happen ) but all we give up is a 1st.. And dump 2 cap burdens in the mean time... In our dreams! Lol |

I'd keep an eye on Tlusty. Highly doubt we get Frolik (headed to montreal). |

I doubt they would. They've got cap space for him without MSL and Hagelin. No reason for them to unload Miller. |

I wouldn't mind Tlusty. Should be a little lower than some of the other players. Everyone is headed to MTR according to rumors. |

Yeah, but to get him at a range they won't match, we'd need our 2nd. Think they'd match the lower qualifier. |

To be honest, i would rather have Tlusty. Much more affordable and in 2012 had 23G 38P in 48 GP... Great affordable player. Im sure his stats would get the "pittsburgh inflation" as well |

We could do the 3.6 to 5.4 because we have our 1st and 3rd. He might be worth 3.6 but not much more.
I know it won't happen. Just wishful thinking. |
