- LA Kings won't have a chance of getting out under that contract if it is indeed painkillers that Richards was detained with at border. This will be a big mess.

- On the report of Coyotes being moved to Las Vegas; I personally believe it is indeed happening, NHL not happy with this coming out already. Most interesting part to me is quote about the expansion teams 2017-2018 to Seattle and Toronto area.

- Obviously Babcock says 'he wants Phaneuf on the team'. When trying to trade him, you are not publicly stating he is unwanted for.. I would be very very disappointed if Phaneuf would be on team beginning of the season.

- Why are people saying that 'Dubas is making trades for Leafs'? The fact that he is the guy answering the phone, does not mean at all he is the one signing off on the trades.. Shanahan is the man who gives final green light; nice set up by the Leafs to make Dubas the point man for trade talks, so he can negotiate freely (backed up by the rest of management team) without other GMs expecting him to have final say in yes/no. He can basically agree on a trade, but if rest of the group does not agree, always has an 'easy out'.

What I expect for today:
- Leafs will sign Matt Hunwick (3y 1.2mln/per year?).
- Leafs will sign Franson (4y 4.75mln/per year?).
- Leafs will sign Winnik (2y)
- Leafs will sign Santorelli (3y)
- Leafs will trade Phaneuf to a Western team (Dallas/SJ/LA/Col/Edm?) or NJ in East.
- Leafs will not trade Phil Kessel (yet). If he is traded (Ana/Dal/SJ/Cal/NJ/Flo?), Leafs will retain 1.5mln-2.5mln on his contract and will get a fantastic return.

As well:
- Hodgson to Detroit
- Semin to Washington
- Green to Detroit
- Belesky to Buffalo
- Martin to Edmonton
- Ehrhoff to NJ
- Weiss to NJ
- Frolik to Florida
- Williams to Nashville
- Ward to Ottawa

Not a bad idea but it has to be for more than $4.9 unless the idea is to force them to match and put them in cap trouble.

That would screw up the Habs big time. They would be forced to match cause losing their 3rd pick overall to the Leafs would be a PR nightmare. And matching would mean they would have to move salary for a crappy return.
